River Run Golf Course

I played here 2 weeks ago. The tee sheet was fairly full and we played in 4 hours. Today we played in 5 hours 20 minutes. Oof. There were marshals driving around, but it didn't do any good. The new owner is doing a lot of good things here. Let's hope he fixes this.

Have played this course for many years. Layout is outstanding. Course conditions have been an issue over the years. This course is on the mend. Some fairways and tee boxes need work. Otherwise, the course was in better shape then I expected. It has a ways to go, but the warm weather and some rain should help. Hoping the coming months provides better course conditions.

I have played here many times over the years and have always enjoyed it. The course is always in very good condition but not this time. Many of the tee boxes are in poor condition and several fairways are lost with only dirt and grass seed. It was disappointing to not be told this prior to the round and still be charged the full rate

The prior owner had let the course conditions get pretty bad, but the new owner has things mostly turned around. The fairways and rough are now fully grassed, with the exception of 2 fairways that are still being restored. The greens were fine. Only two tee boxes had a couple of bare spots - a year ago most of the tee boxes were sand. I didn't see a weed on the course. There were new nets for a quick warm-up. The snack bar was open and it looks like the kitchen has seen some upgrades as well. Really impressed with the direction of things. This has always been a good layout, but had become a cow pasture. The conditions are now fairly equal to or a little better than other ocean city resort courses.

The morning tee sheet looked pretty full and there were lots of golfers out there, but we still played in 4 hours.

The prior owner had abandoned some of the black tee boxes. There are no more black tee markers on the course. I played the blue tees and they were the equivalent to the old blacks minus the abandoned tee boxes - several hundred yards longer than the score card yardage. If this is the new course, you should probably remeasure the yardage and have the course re-rated.

Hat tip to the effort to restore this course. I'm sure it wasn't cheap, but it is certainly appreciated.

The pro shop and starter informed us that there was a few holes that were under repair from storms last year which looks like they will be back in a few weeks (fairways mostly). Greens were awesome and a few tee boxes needed some love but great layout and would definitely go back.

Nice course layout with some water views. Greens are in good shape but some fairways have condition issues. No driving range but hitting cages. Good value at $92.

Course is coming along great! They are re-doing some fairway areas that had issues last year. The greens were a touch slow, but it’s early April. Rolled well though! The layout is one of the best in our area. It’s golf. It’s not resort course crap.

I played here last summer and the conditions were very poor. I’ve played here many times and never saw it in that poor of conditions. Well 6months later it was in much better conditions. The greens were much better. However there were several fairways that were still very bad. Overall worth the $65. If they asked more than that I’d be very upset. Like I mentioned I enjoyed playing there and hope it gets better in the next few months.

Compared to the last time we played here, much improved. Fairways looked as if they were just cut. The was rough wasn't that penalizing. The greens rolled nice. The best of all, we didn't get paired with anyone. My girlfriend is a 25 handicap. Made it nice for her to play her game. Overall, a great day on the links in under 4 hours.

This was the worst maintained golf course I have played in many years. It made you wonder if they have anyone on staff and if they ever spent any money fixing things. Looks like no one has done any work in years.
