About
Although it is tucked away just north of Hampstead, Castle Bay Country Club will make you feel as though you've been transported to the British Isles. The golf course offers an authentic Scottish-links design that incorporates the natural wetlands of its coastal Carolina location, giving it a truly unique character. The landscape of rolling dunes is covered with native grasses but completely devoid of trees. Tall sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there are also expansive waste areas, both characteristics that are true to its links nature. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. Accurate shot placement is the key to doing well on this course and just like any seaside links layout, the coastal breezes play a prominent role. Much of the difficulty of the golf course comes from negotiating with the prevailing winds.

Nice round
Deceptive layout first time airound. Excellent condition
its a fun course...usually windy, but not today. wind not a problem generally. meaning if you play this course, expect some wind. always a pleasure at CB.
Great Course
It was a great course and was in good condition. The back 9 was being aerated, so they course required us to play the front 9 twice. Not a big deal, but the price should have been discounted for this reason.

Great experience
Nice course with a great layout. Greens well maintained and smooth. I didn’t have any issue with the fairways being a little dry as others have commented. They matched the flavor and design of the course. Speaking of flavor, I’d be surprised if the wind doesn’t blow here most of the time. Not many trees and quite close to the ocean. Overall great experience and I’d go back for sure.
Best in the area
This is a fun Links course to play. It is challenging enough for a low handicap to enjoy their round and the tees to short enough for a worse player to have fun. The greens are a nice challenge and roll well. The drink cart is around several times in the round and is fair priced.
