About
Although it is tucked away just north of Hampstead, Castle Bay Country Club will make you feel as though you've been transported to the British Isles. The golf course offers an authentic Scottish-links design that incorporates the natural wetlands of its coastal Carolina location, giving it a truly unique character. The landscape of rolling dunes is covered with native grasses but completely devoid of trees. Tall sand bunkers are strategically placed throughout and there are also expansive waste areas, both characteristics that are true to its links nature. Water hazards come into play on several holes as well. Accurate shot placement is the key to doing well on this course and just like any seaside links layout, the coastal breezes play a prominent role. Much of the difficulty of the golf course comes from negotiating with the prevailing winds.

Slow Play
Foursome in front of us was extremely slow and would not let us through. No ranger on the course. Course was great but 5 hours is way too long
Great course layout
This course has a great layout, nice carts, and is beautiful. The greens and tee boxes were not in the best condition though, which could be due to the vacation season...
Best in Town
This was my 3rd time playing this course. (first time this summer) The greens were punched 3 weeks before I played and you could still tell as the greens had not grown in as much yet. Other than that the fairways were a little long for my style. The pace was great we were a 4some playing on a Sunday morning and we played in 4 hours so you can beat that. I will come back for sure! I just hope the fairways are cut a little more.

Awesome layout
I typically hit pretty long, but this course really make me think with it being a links layout. Challenging and beautiful course with a high risk reward. Only issue has nothing to do about course or management...I just wish fellow golfers would fix ball marks and rake bunkers.
Fun straightforward course
Great staff, well maintained course, simple but has some tricky holes and overall fun to play.
