Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden
About
Ironclad Golf and Beer Garden (formerly known as Belvedere Country Club) in Hampstead begins along the Intracoastal Waterway and then moves inland towards the clubhouse. The back nine is routed through tall forests that provide a home to grey heron and osprey. The golf course forms a large figure eight, which means you won't find any parallel fairways, but you will also be faced with wind whipping in every direction. The unique layout consists of six par 3s, seven par 4s, and five par 5s that all place a heavier emphasis on accuracy than distance. Many of the greens are elevated and the fairways are lined with trees. The par 3s are some of the most demanding holes due to their small, narrow greens. They are the toughest greens to hit in regulation but luckily if your placement isn't perfect there are still opportunities to save your score.

Fun course
Overall great course! Some greens are being repaired so a few were a little rough. I’ll definitely be back.
Overall fun course. The staff was very friendly. Driving range was a little rough, but the course seemed to be in overall good shape.
Great Potential
This course has bee revamped and renamed rom the previous owner. The layout has great potential but it is not in the condition to warrant a higher rating. Greens were somewhat sparse and had areas that were largely sanded and thus we had to move the ball to an another area to putt. The bathroom was in a building that appeared to be the former clubhouse and was well below cleanliness and tolerable standards. But for $19 I could deal with it. I hope they make the necessary investments to improve the above and become a great destination.
Not interested in our business
Called three times this week to make a reservation. No reply. Showed up and was told fully booked. We played the (sand) driving range for an hour and two groups went off the first tee. We are fast and could have been done with nine at that point.
Admire what they are trying to build - it’s clearly a bootstrap rehab and I wish them well, but they need a welcome mat.
Diamond in the rough
New owners definitely trying to revive old Belvedere they’re making progress but oh so slow I’m hoping next time back to Hampstead that the revitalization process is moving a little faster
Golf courses require significant capital and no doubt these guys are trying hard using the beer garden as a novel idea for the area and it’s working!
Good luck guys
Needs some green work
Not too bad of a place to golf. One green was impossible to putt and a couple others need some repairs, The fairways lack any yardage markings but I used an app to determine yardage. Also my app still shows this course as Belvidere on golflinx. For the money not bad at all and I would recommend if you are not looking for perfection. We will play again,
$20 on a hot deal for 18 holes and a cart! Course was in generally good condition except for a couple par threes with surface of the moon greens, and the connection with ironclad means there's good craft beer available at the turn.
Fun course
Yes, the course needs work. Yes the range sucks. Pace is awesome, bunkers were good, and pace was great. This course is fun golf. If you’re looking for pristine conditions look elsewhere. If you want a cheap track, good atmosphere, and good beer, this is it.
