Getting there?
I see improvement! Green surrounds being repaired, greens look good etc. Golfed with a nice couple. Pace of play was 4.5 hours. There are a fair number of tees that need immediate attention. Overall a great little mountain course.
great mountain course!
one of my favorites. If I could revise the layout, I would restore the old green on hole 9 making it a more challenging par 5 instead of a long par 4. I would definitely switch the tee box with the cart path on hole 17, getting the tee boxes away from the treeline, tees are bare, overhanging branches should not define the hole.
Always enjoy playing here
We vacation in the area each year in the fall and it’s always on my list. First time in the spring. Worth the drive. Prepare yourself for some quirkiness. I normally play from the blues here, but this time I played with a guy from the whites. Much different from the whites. The conditions are good with very few unplayable areas. I’ll play here again in the fall.
Great course
Challenging course. The greens are small, but the area around the green are extremely forgiving. Would def play here again!!
It's spring the course is dormant, the greens are still bumpy!
Played with a father and son (Father was 92) had a blast, what nice men. I am not even going to talk about the course with exception of two things! ROLL the greens after your aeriate and sand. They were bumpy as can be. On the fourth hole I hit 9 iron to 4 feet and never found the ball! How you ask, the slope of the green is so extreme that unless you are 10 to 15 yards right of the green it will not hold. It rolled off into the ABYSS that is the left side of the green and it was gone, just absolute crap, weeds, sticks, mud, nothing to be called part of a golf course. No matter how tough a golf course is, you still should have a chance to play your ball in a reasonable manner! So I said my piece, this course COULD be so good in so many ways!
The course is nice and very wide open
We experienced a lot of debris on the fairways from high winds recently.
But we enjoyed the the play regardless
Rough!
Yes it is the off season but the course was rough, all around. The tees had been moved around so all of the yardages on the scorecard were off?? OBTW the greens had been punched and sanded with no notification on GN. I drove 50 miles each way to play here and actually paid hard earned money! It would be nice if leadership did their job, just a little bit! All of the green surrounds were basically dirt, not dead grass, not dormant grass, just nothing. I won't go on because I could list a lot more things. I like the layout and see the potential of this course. It happens to be the only course near where I live so!!! Oh well I guess it is going to be what it is and never be what it could be with a small investment of time and money.
Need to rake up those range balls
First time playing this course. Saw the overall review of 5 so we drove from Atlanta to this course just past the GA/SC border. Very easy to get to from the highway.
The range is very nice with its setup and Trackman. Kind of like teeing off at a Top Golf facility in the Atlanta area. Greens and fairways are in decent shape given the time of the year. Many blinds shots from the Blue tees with all par3's are over 200+ yards. Not sure why the rude group of 3 golfers kept on driving up to our tee box while we were teeing off. Can't go anywhere as there were two more groups in front of us. Management has to do something about all the range balls on the 10th fairway. There had to be at least 100+ balls in the middle of this hole as the range is right next to it. The same goes for the left side of #18 Greens with so many range balls from patrons who can't control the balls at the range... Overall, it's a decent course given the price nowadays, but I wouldn't rate this as a 5 star course.
