Chatuge Shores Golf Course

Stock up on balls before you play this course. Even the fairway has large clumps of grass in it

We decided to play here because it had a 4 star review and there was a discounted tee time of $25/player instead of their usual $40. For the course conditions, $25 was plenty expensive. The greens are inconsistent with some dead spots and plenty of unfixed ball marks. The fairways and tee boxes are essentially yard grass/weeds cut low. On at least two holes, I was hitting off dirt (blue tees).The pace of play was slow (4.5 hours for 18 holes). The grill was closed, so there was nothing substantial to eat there. Finally, the practice range is not great either. Overall the facility is a solid 2.5/5 on a good day. With the amount of better kept courses at a similar prices nearby, we will definitely look to go elsewhere next time.

I played they course for the first time. The layout was very interesting with the front nine played through the hills with elevation changes and 2 holes on the lake and the back nine more of a meadow valley theme. I really enjoyed the layout. Bent grass greens are in great shape and the fairways had weed intrusion but were very playable because of mowing. This is a great value and very good golf and I look forward to playing it again.

Staff very accommodating and competent. Carts & paths in good shape. Fairways good with significant weed intrusion, good mowing negated any ill effect on play. Sand hazards OK, not great. Rough good, evenly mown. Greens good, fast (12+ my guess) and challenging. Fun elevation changes. Several blind shots throughout course. Good map/guide available from starter was very helpful for first time visitor. Fantastic Blue Ridge and lake views! A long drive for us, but we will play again.

We picked up a great price on the hot deals for this course so we decided to drive the hour and half for the round. We really enjoyed the course. The front 9 was difficult for sure but the back 9 wasn't bad at all. These were BY FAR the best greens we have played on all summer. If there was a negative to the course it was that the fairways were just mowed and we had to deal with that a little bit. Will most definitely be back.

Fast play and perfect weather made for a great round of golf. Very happy with the outing.

Next layout for a small town course. Some fairways need work on the back 9. Most greens were in good shape. Good value for the Hot Deal amountvwe paid.

I had purchased a tee time for myself and my stepdad for Saturday, June 16th but he couldn’t get to Chatuge from Canton, NC in time Saturday morning. So we didn’t get to play. It looks like an amazing course though. And since he didn’t know in time, I couldn’t cancel so I paid for a tee time for two but just lost out. Hopefully better luck next time

Course was in great shape. Round was cut short by rain but otherwise pleased with this course

Good course. A few quirky holes but it is a challenge that is enjoyable.
