Nestled within the Blue Ridge Mountains, Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club is peacefully tucked away with the Great Smokies sheltering it to the west. It offers some of the most stunning views of any golf course in western North Carolina. Although it feels remote, Asheville is less than half an hour away. The mountainous surroundings provide a dramatically hilly terrain that is ideal for a challenging round of golf. Players will face plenty of uneven lies on this layout. The elevation changes also provide some interesting risk-reward opportunities throughout the golf course. Mature trees frame most of the holes and the small, sloped greens are often framed with bunkers. The Cummings Cove layout seems unusually short at only 6,415 yards from the back tees but it's not to be underestimated. The undulating terrain makes it feel much longer.

Spring Colors / Great Pace

Haven’t played here in 7 years. Time flies. Usual “early Spring” conditions aka aerated 2 weeks ago / many spots in need of repairs on fairways / cart paths, etc., but Greens rolling nicely (made a few 10-20 ft. nice ones). Gorgeous spring colors / flowers / views on a breezy low 60s sunny day. Give it another 2 weeks and it’ll look even better. Pro shop guy said new owners as of 2 months ok, so hopefully they put the TLC into the course. New carts are very nice, though the “forced slow reverse mode” when your driving out of the designated areas is a tad annoying. Also, restaurant hopefully opening in a few months.

Friendly staff, starter was happy once the other single and I paired up which helped the pace. Not many golfers out there on a Tuesday so it may be slower when busy.

Paid $54 with a GolfNow Hot Deal Discount. Good value. I’ll be back in a few months!!

Great customer service

Had a great time today. There was a little confusion at first about tee times and players, but the gentleman at the pro shop was very friendly and worked everything out for us. Highly recommend. Great customer service and you can tell they care about there patrons

Course was really wet from all the rain we have had. It was cart path only.. The greens were still quick and in good shape.

Good layout

The course was very nice, but very wet, especially the front nine, due to the rain over the past few weeks. The course plays a lot longer than the yardage because of all the uphill shots, especially the back nine. We were paired up with a single and had a very enjoyable round, although the fourball in front were slow and cart path only didn’t help.

Uggh, cart path only

We love this course. Unfortunately the recent rains have thoroughly soaked it. Cart path only! Some places hard to gain footing and hit the ball properly.Praying for dryer weather.

The course is in excellent condition they have all 18 holes open. I highly recommend playing this course. It’s a good value for the money. They do not sell any alcoholic beverages or provide any sort of food. You are allowed to bring outside alcohol to the course.

Interesting course

Front side very tight. Accuracy off tee paramount. Back side more open but much longer. Terrifying opening par 3 on the back. Great layout, challenging and good conditioning. Not a course for high handicappers. Friendly staff. Pace of play could improve a bit but not terrible. Great value for money. $80 course for $50 price.
