Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club

Caught a super deal price and headed out. Thought I might get 18 in before the rains hit, but only made it to 8. Horse on a flat rock kind of rain, so struggled in on 9, had a 90 minute lunch in the clubhouse, not bad.

A fellow player told me the course staff would not let anyone out until the pools on 9 & 10 greens drained, but later a staffer told me due to complaints from some members, they no longer held folks off the course; if I wanted to head out, go for it! Dude even let me head back to #9 tee & re-do the hole.

Carts are comfy, GPS system is accurate and useful. Course is challenging; lots of tight shots & decisions to hit iron off the tee or try the 10% chance of winning big with the driver across the corner. Greens were in good shape.

Fun course, I'll play it again.

That last time I played the staff was rude. This round was much better. The shop attendant informed me that it would be slow from the get go and there was no way to get around any quicker. Ask me to wait on the other GN group so I did. They never showed and I ended up playing solo. The front nine was a 2- hour wait fest, the back 9 opened up and played it in about an hour. The course itself is in fantastic shape and you can't go wrong paying under $30 to play here.

My wife and I came up for a vacation and overall we really enjoyed the course. I thought the greens were some of the prettiest that I’ve ever played on however.

Fun course, different types of challenges off the tee. Can’t bust out the driver on most holes and need accurate shots off the box to avoid legitimate rough. Only issue is course can get wet, and struggles to drain well, but that’s mostly a result of the topography. Overall, love playing here and will continue to come back!

I used to play Cummings Cove fairly regularly however 4-5 years ago the upkeep of the course and facilities began to slip. So at that time, I stopped playing the course. This year I read some reviews that the course was in great condition so I decided to book a round to find out for myself. To my surprise the course was in great shape except for a few areas on the edges of a few fairways where it appears they have re-seeded or re-sodded (it was cart path only in these areas).

Cummings Cove has built a new building to house the pro shop and they have re-located the bag drop and cart pickup area. This made drop off and check-in much quicker and easier. Good job folks.

Beautiful course with phenomenal amenities! Staff was great and the course was perfect. Good quick options for food as well. If you want to golf with some great views. This us your course.

Great layout and challenging course. Greens were punched last week but they still played well!

Fairways excellent. 3 hour 18 hole round playing alone after playing through 2 groups. It would have been good to know that all the greens were aerated and sanded. Even though I played from 11:30 to 2:30 every thing around the greens including the sand traps were soaking wet. It is true that we have not had any rain in a few weeks. However it was less fun than it could’ve been as normal chips and pitches stopped in extra long fringe or muddy areas.

Course in excellent condition. Requires high approach shots as the greens are very fast and the ball will roll like on linoleum flooring. Three putted several greens, undulating very fast greens.

I’m going to be as fair as possible here:

First excuse the amenities 1-star. That was unintentional.

Second the course was in great shape. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were in excellent shape. The bunkers get a 0 out of 10.

The reason I would not recommend this course was the treatment I received from Karl manning the club house. I totally understand preferential treatment to members and leagues. However, when 4 HORRIBLE GOLFERS are literally holding up 6 other golfers something should be done. To be told, sorry you don’t have any rights out here because you’re not a member, not a quote, the actual quote was, they are members and in a league so I will not do anything about it. I paid my money, it’s a semi-private course with an elitist attitude. I’ve played private clubs where members have shown more courtesy and the staff been friendlier. I PAID, my concerns should have some merit. I’ve played Cummings Cove for 7 years. Today was my last round there for a very long time. I have never left a course angry in my life. Today Karl accomplished that feat. Total time playing 18 3.5 hours—not bad at all. However when you realize 2+ hours was spent playing 7 holes and less than 90 minutes allowed you to play 11 holes., changes it just a bit.

Further more, they are developing some areas for homes to be built. It’s sad as what they are doing is destroying the character of what was once a beautiful, scenic course.

Always enjoy playing here. Greens and fairways were in great shape.

Beautiful views and great layout. Pretty tight fairways and very fast greens.

Very nice course in quite good condition,. Excellent variety of distance and type of holes - up, down, doglegs left & right. Greens in nice condition but are pretty slow. Just need to get used to that.
