Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club

We visited the Asheville area and wanted to play golf and even though this course was a bit of a ride it was well worth it. The layout was challenging and conditions were very good. We played mid-day so it was a bit slow, which was great for us. We finished in 3 1/2 hours. Fun course, friendly staff would highly recommend the track.

Great course, with a great layout! Love the variety of holes, short and long par 4's and 3's! Par 5's that can be reached if you wanna take that risk reward shot!

Nice facilities on the course, clean bathrooms on both front and back! Ice and water available on both as well!

Multiple sets of tees make this course very enjoyable if you pick the right set. As a high teen handicapper I played the silvers and thoroughly enjoyed my round. Lots of interesting par 5s and threes. The greens rolled very true! P.S. the philly cheeseteak in the clubhouse is excellent.

With good course management you can score well on the tight fairways and get some nice bounces from hits off the sides. Bring extra balls anyway. The rough is cut just long enough that it makes it hard to find your ball unless you walk right over it.

Played mid-day after a tournament and the course was wide open. Not many flat tee boxes, but the greens are very manageable.

Had an amazing rate which made the day even better. Service in the restaurant is a wee bit slow.

Great value and the course was in good shape, the only issue was cart path only on the front nine but did not have a handicap flag for the folks that need assistance.

Only complaint is the lack of an on course ranger. A group of six holding the whole course up and no one doing anything about it is not good . 90 degree temps and slow play does not make for a happy camper.

the course was in perfect shape, despite the severe drought in the area... fairways and greens were the exact median between firm and cushy... Carl at the desk was very friendly and helpful, welcoming us for the first time.... i mentioned to him that the "little things" such as the landscaping and the complimentary driving net/golfballs were the icing on the cake! looking forward to bringing all of my friends to Cummings Cove!

Ok layout in a pretty spot, but the course drains very very poorly and was basically a mud bath.

The area is beautiful and the course is in great shape. Will go back!!

Best kept secret in Hendersonville!

Everyone and everything about this course was way above my expectations. I would highly recommend this course to all my friends

Cummings Cove was in terrible shape when I played on Mon.4/25/16. This course was in my top 5 in the area, but I cannot recommend it until the course conditions improve. Several fairways had large patches of dirt or bare spots, and seveal areas looked "patched up" to try to repair them. I'll check back in a couple of months.

Greens are coming in. Little time and some rain and the greens should be good

The course was in really good shape...the greens had recently been aerated but were in pretty good shape considering

i was not warned the greens had been punched before booking

I play this course often and it never gets old.

It plays like two 9's instead of an 18. The front is more flat and common, where as the back is more elevated and scenic.

Carts have GPS and auto scoring.

If you want to treat yourself, give this course a try.

Awsome day golfing aside from a few wet sloppy areas , after a 5 day stretch of hard rain the course drained very well , i would rather play CC than the grove park anyday !!

Almost every shot on the course needs to be accurate for distance and trajectory. Only a couple of chances to "grip it and rip it". Greens are tough by design but roll true, and that's all anyone can ask for. Beautiful views abound. Be prepared to hit every club in the bag .

The club house has a screen that shows if a player or cart is behind pace on a specific hole that is holding up the rest of the field. A marshal should be sent out to make the group or player holding up the field to wait on the tee box for the next group to play though. If two groups are slow players they can hold everyone else up making everyone miserable. I do not suggest a slow group to speed up if they like to play slow. Let them visit at the next tee box while the faster players play though. Everyone then can enjoy their round.

The staff was friendly letting us start ahead of our scheduled Tee time. The carts do have GPS which was helpful tackling some of the holes on the front nine. I was not impressed with the fairway conditions after reading some of the earlier reviews there are still spots where the grass has receded and you will be hitting off of dirt. The change of seasons meant that there were a lot of leaves on the ground and due to the rain all week we lost a lot of balls that were in play. Hope that this review helps other people when deciding where to play in the Asheville area.
