Beauty at every turn
This is a beautiful quiet course that we enjoy playing. It’s on our top 2 courses that we have found so far. Love it!
Yes and No
This course has been bought and sold a few times. The condition has come and gone many times also. This course has prime location but the course doesn't warrant the giant price tag they want to play here. If you don't book a hot deal stay away. The course is in decent condition but is worth about 35 weekend and 30 during week. The carts have a VERY ANNOYING gps to keep u from driving in certain areas for what reason i don't know. Still the same old Oliver's Landing, Ole Still but with a Rock Barn price. The way to make this course go is to charge a reasonable rate, have cheap beer specials and fix ur own cheap hotdogs with a Lance Rack for snacks. Maybe pizza ordered ahead for the turn. Cart person on weekends to sell the concessions. It would be packed. You can't polish a terd.
Great value
Not in perfect condition, however, for the money you pay it is a great course. Challenging, but also is gettable
Best value in Hickory, excellent condition.
The course is in very good shape and greens are best I've seen in years. They opened it up more by a major tree reduction last year and sand traps are coming along. Course drains incredibly well after any rain.
Don't play in summer
Played nine holes in late morning but there was no drinking water available on the course- there were no coolers or vending machines on the course along with no beverage carts- should have been warned about BYOW (bring your own water) prior to teeing off- also was not warned about restrictions driving the carts in certain areas- I had major knee surgery last summer due to torn quadriceps tendon which limits my mobility but several times golf cart stopped my getting closer to my ball in the rough
Better hit it straight
Great course, small greens make hitting good approach shots important. They recently vericut the greens but I made over 100 feet of putts and only had 31 putts which is great for me on Bermuda. Very interesting layout and many fairways are tree lined and all holes have lots of slope. I went with 10 friends and we all plan to dive that hour and play it again soon.
Could be….
Designed well. Crappy pro shop and amenities. Super friendly staff. Greens were cut like crap. Carts were newer with gps. But no sky caddy and gps would say you were out of bounds even on cart path sometimes. Could be a nice course but needs some attention in a few vital areas
Weekday 50 min from home
Booked to golf a new course with father in law. I will say for the price this was a good trip to Players Ridge. The course layout is good some tight fairways and the greens are on the smaller size. In a state where is is so easy to grow grass I can’t understand why there are huge swaths of hillside with no grass. The greens have some west spots from inexperienced mowers.
Overall it’s an average muni course at a fair price with limited snack bar offerings.
Awesome course and staff
This is one of my favorite courses to play. Course layout is challenging for the seasoned golfer while being very playable for the beginner. The pro shop is very well stocked for those last minute items and has an excellent choice of swag, you gotta check out their golf shirts. The staff is one of the best parts of the course. Always friendly and willing to help you in any way. I give Players Ridge 5 stars. Check them out you won't be disappointed.
