Still Got It
They have fast bent grass greens in great shape, good fairways and tee boxes. This course is in great shape with a good layout, beautiful views, and just a really good course in really good shape. Requires well struck shots to shoot a good round. Good mix of easy and hard holes and just a joy to play. I recommend this course 100 percent.

Be on your toes
Cedar Rock is in excellent shape and not overpriced like many mountain courses in summer. What it does have in common with the others is tricky greens and fairways that require a fair bit of precision. No. 5 and 12 will get your attention. All in all, I wish it were closer to my summer home.
Excellent layout with very good Greens
First time playing CRCC, nice layout with really good bent grass greens. Unfortunately the course was nearly under water from all of the recent rain. Will definitely play this one again when its drier, pace of play was slow, just as I had seen in other reviews.
Best course around for miles!
I can’t say enough great things about this gem. Best greens around and a great layout. Always good pace and the staff is on point.
Good Views
I think the course is an average course in a great location. You have great Mountain View’s from most wholes and the weather seems to be a little cooler to. Great course to play if want the mountain feel withought driving an hour plus to play.
Poor Management on Tee Times
One of the best nicest courses in this area. Only problem is every time I play here, we never tee off on time and they seem to have a problem “sneaking” to many people off without tee times. Took over 5 hours to play 18. Management needs to step it up.
I am sorry to hear about your slow round. I appreciate the feedback. We have recently upgraded our pace of play guidelines and have rangers and marshalls to keep pace moving.

Greens were good. The fairways need some tlc. Most of the bunkers had sand. Some needed sand. Great layout. Will definitely be back.
Nice
Nice course. The day me and a buddy played it had rained the previous night and most of the morning so the course was wet. But that didn’t effect our day. Once we started the sun came out and it was an enjoyable round. Great course for the price. Would play again!

It was good to play A different course. It was a bit muddy out as it has been raining a lot and started on #10, but each hole was a different challenge and the scenery was great to look at. People let us play through with no problem. We would definitely play here again when it’s greener!
Great Experience
Have been coming down from Boone to the Lenoir courses in the winter for years but hadn’t played Cedar Rock. We will definitely be back. It is by far the best layout in the area, and it is very affordable on golf now.
Best deal in town!
Gorgeous views keep you in awe while playing a challenging course... especially from the back tees. Long off the tee on some holes, but shot shaping on other ones keep you focused. The course is always in great shape and has the best putting green in the area.
