course well maintained
A lot of people out working to keep this course in good condition. Unfortunately, the day we played, the greens had recently been punched and sanded.
Layout was a little confusing for the first time. Greens in great shape. Fairways ok, but not great. Enjoyed my round.
Value is consistent with price
We wouldn't hurry back to this course. It was inexpensive, and you get what you pay for. We waited on just about every shot. Lots of locals and everyone seemed happy!
This course was fun and I could definitely see the potential they are trying to reach. It was a confusing layout that kept us frequently relying on directions from regulars. Lots of construction happening. Overall the course was fun. Definitely will return to see their future progress. Gave amenities a one star because there was no food at restaurant and the range is poorly set up because you have to pause for passing carts as the driving area is across the cart path. Plus, #1 tee box is right beside driving area.
One of the worst courses I’ve ever played
Course was poorly maintained, there were multiple tee boxes where the grass was longer than my tee. The layout didn’t really make sense and there weren’t any signs directing you to the right direction. Very poor conditions. I don’t think I’ll ever play again but it was very cheap.
Need a qualified starter
So booked a tee time through tee off for 12:30 arrived 10 minutes before tee time to a line waiting on the first tee was not even able to hit my first tee shot untill 1:20 and by the 3rd hole i just completely gave up as i was once again behind a line of carts at this pace i would not have even been able to complete the round before nightfall. This is completely ridiculous to so overbook and allow so many walkons that people with actual reservations cant even begin their round on their alloted time. Please do yourself a favor and hire a starter or someone competent enough to know how to manage a tee sheet and a golf course
No Visible Course Maintenance
Lenoir Golf Course is scenic and unique. We oassed thru one tunnel 3 times and heard car traffic on every hole. The course had not done any leaf cleanup and was very wet. Cart paths are washed out or have potholes on the surface. Course layout was alright. Due to After Thanksgiving crowding and a 40 minute wait for a cart play was very slow. The nice weather saved the day.
Course was cart path only b3cause of overnight rain. Course layout a little confusing but was in good shape.
I have golfed at Lenoir Golf Course about 15 times over the last year. The conditions of the fairways and greens are really good now. Pace of play was quick.
Being a turf instructor, reviews are hard for me because I can be very critical. However, the greens were in great shape and value for money was good. Negative would be..... crabgrass, crabgrass, crabgrass! The rough and some of the fairways are infested and looks like pre-emergent didn’t do it’s job (like I said, turf instructor). Overall, good for the $ and the cart tunnels are always fun as well.
NO COVID PRECAUTIONS
No signage, no precautions in the pro shop or on the course. You would think nothing is going on. Wow, just wow. Needless to say, I will not be back.
