Fine for us
This course to me is a great one for us. It is fair with no gimmick holes and a good value for what we paid. Will play it again several times over the next few months.
Would play again
I am in town for work and decided to get a round in. Great value. The course was in good condition. Course is also challenging with all the hills. Not the longest course if that is what you are looking for. I usually play whites, but was able to play blues here except for a 219 yard par 3 at 11. I would come back to play when I’m back in town
Fun Tract
Unique course with lots of uneven lies, tight fairways, and small greens. Not very long , but plays longer than yardage. If you’re looking for something a bit different, this is a good choice. Greens in good condition and fairways getting better. Very reasonable price.
One of the worst courses
I’ve played a lot of courses around the area and this is by far the worst one I’ve played in some time. The fairways awful, tee boxes awful and the bunkers a joke. The greens are in good shape but it was like playing in the grass in my backyard.
Well-kept challenging greens
Well-kept challenging greens and doesn't break the bank! This place is an awesome value and I look forward to going back. Staff was helpful and friendly!
Soggy
Played after a fairly steady rain the day and night before so it was extremely wet and colder than expected, max 45. With that being said, the layout was fun. I played from the blues at just under 6200 yds. There are still some very challenging holes and the size and slope of the greens makes it even more fun. Really need to be precise with approach shots. Greens were great, Loved the speed and condition. Looking forward to play again when it is dry and warmer.
Lexington is challenging
Course was very wet from recent rains, but greens were very good condition. Course has a lot of undulation, with a number of uphill holes that will challenge your distance control on approaches. Rates are very good, staff are friendly..
Hard course
This course is a precision shot course. Very hard if you've never played before. even harder when the rough is grown up weeds. Hard to find your ball if you're out of the fairway. The greens were in decent shape though.
Challenging Fun Course
Lexington is a fun course that is very hilly and provides a multitude of challenges to scoring well. It is not a long course, but will test your skills through the bag. The greens are good with decent speed, many have some severe sloping. Rate is good and this a definite must play.
Hidden Gem
Absolutely gem of a golf course that I never knew existed. Short course, but offers a good mix of shots involved, greens rolled very nicely and overall the course was in great shape.
One of the better golf values around the Triad. Course winds through tall pines, a lovely neighborhood and has some good elevation changes I honestly didnt know existed in Lexington.
Highly recommend!
Lexington Golf Club
Played Lexington Golf Club for the first time yesterday. It is a great old golf club that winds its way up and down hills and valleys for the entire 18 holes. It is by no means long, playing only 6110 yards from the tips, but the layout itself keeps things interesting. There is only one par 3 and one par 5 on the first nine, and then three par 3's and tow par 5's on the back nine. Club selection is key on the first four holes, as you will use less than driver to place your tee shot. As mentioned previously, most holes play either downhill or uphill, which places a premium on approach shot distance. In general, fairways were decently wide, but there were a couple of occasions where a sprayed tee ball could find trouble. Water, in the form of a small creek comes into play only on holes 2 and 4.
As far as course conditions go, tee boxes and fairways were in great shape. I didn't hit into any bunkers, but they appeared to have plenty of soft sand in them. The greens were the standout feature for me. They rolled the truest of any greens I've played in a while. If you started a ball on your line, it was going in the hole.
The carts were electric and in great shape. The pro shop is small, but well apportioned. There is no driving range on site, but a good little practice green.
All-in-all, Lexington Golf Club is great old style golf club tucked back in a quiet area of town. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an enjoyable round.
Best around
For the price this is the best course around the area. It's not very long but still provides a challenge to any skill level. The course is also very well maintained almost all public course I've played in this area have had winter kill this year, but they have kept there fairways and greens in great shape. Also the greens are always soft and in really great condition. Being such a nice course and having a great price the pace of play can be a tad slower on the weekends.
