Colonial Country Club

Great course, very forgiving layout. Greens were still recovering from aeration but were still fast. Would like to come back when they are fully recovered. Staff and members were welcoming.

First time playing since it is a private club. Glad that they did a few tee times for non-members to get a chance to play the course. Course layout is great, lots of shot shaping and undulating greens. Greens are fast and challenging to read.

Course was in pretty good shape. Rough wasn’t too tall but the greens are like concrete. Hard to get a ball to stop. Layout is nice but a bit confusing on the back 9. Main issue is the pro shop guys. Gave a member of our party grief about a shirt not being tucked in multiple times. I’ll give it a pass for the first time but after the round and we’re leaving, now it’s just egregious. Also heard the comment of “always have problems with those GolfNow tee times”. If it’s such an inconvenience to you, Colonial Country Club Pro Shop, here’s a solution - DONT SIGN UP AND USE GOLF NOW FOR BOOKING. Fairly nice course, but won’t be back due to the way my guest was treated.

Greens were super fast and hard. Had been punched and sand dressed recently. Otherwise course was in good shape.

Me and my friends always love playing this course. This course is the perfect balance of length and challenge around the greens. The greens are always in incredible shape when I have played out there. You won’t be disappointed.

Staff was very friendly and course was awesome. The greens were bent grain, and they were no joke! Even after multiple weeks of especially cold, wet weather it looked great. Highly recommend giving Colonial Country Club a shot!

Had a 9:10 tee time booked for a Saturday and the course cancelled it without notifying me. As you know, finding a morning tee time in the area is hard enough, I doubt I’ll be back.

CCC is a solid course with exceptional potential. Played it after NC was hit with hurricane Debby, but the course was quite dry and the maintenance crew put in good work to repair some rough spots. The overarching theme of the day was how mundane the front nine and beginning of the back nine was. The course won't win any awards for the first 13 holes, but the inward stretch is quite the opposite. Greens were meh at best, and conditions were quite unpleasant even with it being as dry as it was. Looked like the maintenance crew took a week off after repairing for 2 days.

I believe that Colonial Country Club is a private course.

I'm not a member, but I was able to play via a voucher deal they had through the Carolinas Golf Association. This is an excellent course, with the most challenging aspect being the fast greens with slopes. I was told by the pro shop that the stimp reading was ~12 on the day I played. The greens are Ultra Dwarf Champion Bermuda according to their website. Golfpass shows "bent grass" as the greens type, and this was likely the case some years ago.

This is a very walkable layout, with good bunkering and some unique holes. This is the kind of course of which one would want to be a member. I live too far away to consider membership. There is a large swimming pool and tennis courts for those who appreciate those amenities. I will be looking to play again should they continue the voucher program with the CGA.
