Lincoln Country Club

About
Lincoln Country Club has a scenic landscape of hardwood forests and meandering creeks. Although it might not seem like anything special on first glance, the golf course is actually one of the area's hidden gems. The traditional design has a surprisingly formidable test. The challenging golf course has a front nine with tree-lined fairways and small greens that demand accuracy. While the back nine is more open, it's no less challenging. Shot placement will still be an important factor when maneuvering the greens. Ponds and creeks come into play throughout and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along many of the greensides. The Lincoln Country Club golf course finishes with a tough par 4 that demands an accurate tee shot with out-of-bounds on the right and a creek on the left. Don't underestimate the undulating green, it has seen many three-putts in its time.

Good Layout
The Lincoln Country Club golf course is a good layout and the greens and fairways are in excellent shape. The pro shop staff is very friendly.
Poor pace as always
Forced to start on 10. Pace was great until the turn to go to 1 when a college team was not forced to start in 10 to play 9 holes ... 4 groups of 4 walking then took us nearly 3 hours to play front 9. Not sure why we couldn't start at 1 and no issue would have been had. Course seems to always find ways to cause the pace of play to be terrible as stated in another review last year. Probably be at least another year before I give this course another chance unless something can be done
One of the best
Great layout that makes you play smart golf. Can’t miss too big!
Aeration Sucks
Yesterday, was the first time I was made aware that the course had completed aerating the greens. Usually, that is on the website when booking the tee time. There was not any notification. I understand the courses do this for upkeep. A lot of courses have been doing this during the summer months but they do two things. They notify the public and the discount the round. We still paid $57 which was unacceptable. The greens were basically sand. I’m not sure for the excuse about cutting the rough. We lost several balls 2-3 feet off the fairway. If you’re going to let the rough grow like this we should be provided spotters. I was very disappointed and embarrassed because I brought a out of town guest.
Excellent course, bring your A game and make shots.
Late June in Carolina
No Signs saying "No Water on Course". No Warning from the Clubhouse. No Refreshment Cart on Course. There were several wooden stands for water coolers, but there was no water cooler inside. Grab a case of Gatorade before you get there or before you start, because you are on your own.
Great
Greens are fantastic. Fairways are good. The range was closed when I went so they could cut the grass. Which sucked but I understand. For the price and condition this is the best course around.
Hidden Gem
This course has a nice layout that is challenging yet fun. The greens are in very good shape and fast so if you are willing to travel a little bit outside of Charlotte to play a great course then this is your best bet!
Nice course
Fairways and roughs in good condition, Sand traps need to be deep raked, greens rolled true, did not hold the approach shot, were medium speed. Overall good opportunity to use all clubs in the bag.
Absolutely worth the money
This is the nicest course in the area. Fairways are nice and full tee boxes are well maintained. Greens run nice and true. Average to fast pace putts. If there was a down side. The bathrooms out on the course could use some work. Thinking about becoming a member
Decent greens, some funky holes
Very good greens here but some funky and challenging holes. It's an old course with very narrow cart paths. Holes 11 and 18 play across a road. And you have to cross a main road to get to holes 1, 10, 12 and 17. Overall condition was good. New range balls too
Interesting layout.
Fun course to play. Greens are improving. The contrast between the front and back nines is stark. 10 through 18 are challenging and in great condition. The front nine (i assume the old course) needs an upgrade. Those fairways were rough. May be better once the grass grows in. Fun day. Great burgers and fries at the bar.
Beautiful Course
This course was in excellent condition. A beautiful layout. The front side was in better shape than the back. The tee boxes need some but the greens were perfect. Well worth the GolfNow deal.
