Lincoln Country Club
About
Lincoln Country Club has a scenic landscape of hardwood forests and meandering creeks. Although it might not seem like anything special on first glance, the golf course is actually one of the area's hidden gems. The traditional design has a surprisingly formidable test. The challenging golf course has a front nine with tree-lined fairways and small greens that demand accuracy. While the back nine is more open, it's no less challenging. Shot placement will still be an important factor when maneuvering the greens. Ponds and creeks come into play throughout and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking along many of the greensides. The Lincoln Country Club golf course finishes with a tough par 4 that demands an accurate tee shot with out-of-bounds on the right and a creek on the left. Don't underestimate the undulating green, it has seen many three-putts in its time.

Challenging course
Fairways and roughs in good condition. Some traps were hard packed, some were deep raked. Greens rolled true, held the approach shot, were medium speed. The course was very crowded, requiring waiting on every shot!
Nice course, bad experience
First of all the course has a neat layout and is a nice design. I found a few places with 6-12 inch rough, even around the greens but that’s the only issue with the course itself. Greens were probably aerated with the past month and they came back great. They were smooth and pretty fast. It’s a course where playing for the first time you don’t know what to do certain holes but over time you figure it out. So the course itself is a nice track
Unfortunately there was some type of event that day and some type of round with three people playing for score and there were several golf carts following them. I came up on them on five and the pace of play was brutal. Half because they are playing some type of tourney but made much worse because the spectators won’t move when they should, so they kept staying in the line of flight meaning you can’t hit. I had never played before and decided to try and see what happened on the back nine. I wish I hadn’t. There were people watching just parked in the way, no regard for anyone else. On 16 three spectator golf carts stayed at the green after it cleared apparently talking to the ranger (who never came by). Probably 5-10 minutes between swings, occasionally more.
I went into the pro shop to make two points. First, don’t sell tee times that are going to run into an event like this (they had other stuff going on as well). Just offer times later so people don’t run into it. Second, the people watching don’t know what they are doing and making it worse. They should have stuck with the players. Twice spectators were parked within range on a blind tee shot for example. Or hanging back when I could have hit and kept moved at least quicker. The guy in the pro shop didn’t care and rolled his eyes at me. When I said that there shouldn’t have been times offered and the tee sheet should have been blocked off he replied with “Onesomes can be difficult on the golf course”. I’d have preferred to know what was going on instead of running into that. I drove an hour to play there and I don’t appreciate that at all. There was no starter and no one on the tee box or around it at my time. Other courses have told me there were events and offered alternatives (go off the back, wait for other golfers for better pace of play, etc). This was just wrong.
I don’t expect anything to be done different next time. At least block off the tee sheet or explain what is going on so I can decide what to do. No way in heck would I go back. At least listen to what happened and do better next time. I usually play in the weekend games at my home course so if I get time off during the week I like to try somewhere else and I’m a single. Stuff like this makes me want to not put up with trying new courses because you fall through the cracks.

If you have not you are missing out. Play this course
Enjoyable
After the rain it was great even though it was cart path only it was fantastic!!
Do Not Waste Your Money
I have more grass in my pocket than this place. It is a true goat track and pace of play is ridiculous with no oversight. 5 hours on a weeksay? No money is put into this course. 18 is a carnival hole. Spend your money elsewhere.
Early golf
Fairways need alot of growth. Driving range had very little Grass to hit from
Course is in winter condition
Fairways and roughs in dormant condition. Sand traps in good condition. Greens rolled true, were medium speed, did not hold the approach shot.
The course is nice and well kept. My only isuues were the last two holes pin placement. I was waiting to see the windmill. The only way to get the ball to stop was to putt it off the green then hit the hole.
Good Layout
The Lincoln Country Club golf course is a good layout and the greens and fairways are in excellent shape. The pro shop staff is very friendly.
Poor pace as always
Forced to start on 10. Pace was great until the turn to go to 1 when a college team was not forced to start in 10 to play 9 holes ... 4 groups of 4 walking then took us nearly 3 hours to play front 9. Not sure why we couldn't start at 1 and no issue would have been had. Course seems to always find ways to cause the pace of play to be terrible as stated in another review last year. Probably be at least another year before I give this course another chance unless something can be done
One of the best
Great layout that makes you play smart golf. Can’t miss too big!
Aeration Sucks
Yesterday, was the first time I was made aware that the course had completed aerating the greens. Usually, that is on the website when booking the tee time. There was not any notification. I understand the courses do this for upkeep. A lot of courses have been doing this during the summer months but they do two things. They notify the public and the discount the round. We still paid $57 which was unacceptable. The greens were basically sand. I’m not sure for the excuse about cutting the rough. We lost several balls 2-3 feet off the fairway. If you’re going to let the rough grow like this we should be provided spotters. I was very disappointed and embarrassed because I brought a out of town guest.
Excellent course, bring your A game and make shots.
