Just a outstanding course.... well worth the drive. Photo submitted by DKN08 on 07/11/2016
Nice course
My only complaint is they don’t let you walk until the afternoon and you have to be with a member. I have no problem keeping up with golfers that are riding. It’s a nice course that’s fair from all the tees. We’ll continue to play it.
Great place to play will go back with other family members
Forgiving Fairways, Fast Greens
First time playing this course. Played as a single and flew through the front nine. Caught up to the other golfers at the 9th green and pace slowed to normal. Greens were 20% faster than I am used to in Missouri but were in good shape. The entire course seemed well kept. No truly memorable holes or I'd rate this higher.
Open
Course is in great condition. Fairways are wide with just enough hazards. Greens are fast and true. Lots of fun for all levels of play.
The Emerald NewBern NC
My son in law and I played on Sunday 4/6/2025 our reservation was on time no delays Bow and all the staff I encountered were courteous and respectful. The course and greens were in excellent playing conditions! We plan on making The Emerald our home course!
Lousy course
No bathrooms tee times overbooked no carts no ball washers for being a more private golf course it is a total chaos very very disappointing!
A little wet but awesome as always
Yesterday was a great day for golf, just cold enough for a light jacket but even with the sun you couldn’t break a sweat. Had the wife drive the cart for me since it was cart path only due to the rain from the day before but still perfect for me.
The Emerald is a Gem
Whenever I’m staying nearby I make the drive to play the Emerald. It’s a terrific design by Rees Jones that will be fun to play for all golfers provided they play from the correct tees.
On this visit I was fortunate enough to join up with two members who provided some local knowledge and made it a fun round.
I wouldn’t hesitate recommending this course to anyone. It’s a gem, worthy of its name.
Great course for the price
Only suggestion would be 10 minutes between tee times instead of 8. 2 minutes can really make a difference on a packed course.
