Nice course, well maintained. Could use a bit of fairway repair on 2 holes, may have been related to excess rain this year.

The bad: We had a conference in Cherokee and decided to play a round on the way out. Thursday afternoon, figured we would be able to get through a round in 3-4 hours. When we finished #4 there were 4 groups waiting to tee off on #5. We ended up giving up at 2.5 hours in on #8 as we both had 3+ to drive.

The good: course was beautiful, great scenery. It’s a short course but tight fairways and approaches with lots of trees, firm greens, and severe slopes around the greens.

We'd had a lot of rain leading up to my playing so the course was soggy and overgrown. A week or so of sunshine will help.

As with any Golfnow experience these days it was painfully slow. 1pm time on a Sunday should be quicker than 5hrs ... but it's not. Not sure if we have collectively become worse golfers, or just more people playing jams up the courses.... but its awful. If you are reading this please, please, please do not spend 4mins lining up your double bogey putt every hole. Give it a roll and move on.

This is a great layout and could be a super course. BUT it needs Grooming. The greens a grainy and inconsistent. If someone took a blowers to get the excess grass and leaves off them it would be an improvement. Rough is so think you lose your balls in them which further slows play. Not sure why there’s no food but it would be a great place to have a beer and get a bite to eat.

This course was fun to play but extremely short since it was built in 1919. Overall experience was fun, but the tees were under repair and moved in weird places that were not flat or apporpriate., a little frustrating. Great layout at the exception of holes 14 and 16 need to be redesigned.

Advanced golfers will have birdie and eagle changes on most par 4 and par 5 and can shoot a low 60 round.

Only played 13 due to rain. Because of the weather and flooding in the area the course was a little rough. Needed to be mowed and several temp tee boxes. However the fairways and green have held up well. Staff was very friendly and accommodating

Played Lake Junaluska due to available tee times while on vacation. Had read that the greens had been scratched “de-thatched” but wasn’t aware that all holes were playing from temporary tees so finding a semi level teeing spot was difficult. Range finder was a must due to shortened holes. Also the course has two holes that you actually hit shots across a road. Number 14 has to qualify as the strangest hole I’ve ever played. The course had been slit and over seeded. We were cart path only. Neither of the restricted conditions were reported to us.. We were a foursome behind two twosomes of older men. Play was so slow we stoped at9. We

Squeezed 18 holes in but kinda tight.

Temporary tees that were located on side hills and vari cut greens but charged full price. Should have been notified of abnormal course conditions before booking.

It was a cheap game so we booked it. I went in with no expectations and was still disappointed. Poorly designed and cars taken for tee boxes. Fairway grass not well manicured and ground was extremely hard to the point you can’t get under the ball to properly hit your iron or wedge shots.

Beautiful surroundings, but the course is only average. The back nine has holes that are near impossible to par or are very short. Many of the tees are not level and fairways were not cut. We had a good time anyway, once we passed the slow foursome.

Labor Day golf was good first group out so we flew through in 2 1/2 hours
