Good $25 golf course (don’t pay more than that)

Ever play a golf course where you are convinced someone has cut the maintenance budget? This is that course...the greens were all in good shape, but the rest of the course was missing fertilizer and weed killer. The gateways appeared to be mowed in half only....cutting the budget so that fare ways are mowed one half at a time. Whoever owns this course should divest themselves and sell to someone who will spend the money to care for it.

Super Fun. Perfect greens.

The clubhouse worker allowed my 3 threesome to go off about an hour early to beat the rain. That was a awesome way to get a great first impression. We knew going in the course would be a shorter layout but had no idea how fun it was to play. Greens were perfect bent grass but super slow from the 3 consecutive rainy night. If your expected a US Open type challenging course this isn’t for you. If your looking for a fun set up, with quick pace and good conditions. This is your place. Some of the navigation between hole was tricky and we even played the wrong hole once. Tees and greens are tight. We will be back soon.

Great conditions, poorly managed

Had a specific tee time. Arrived early and was on the tee box on time. Not sure if things were just way behind or if they were letting everyone walk in and play, but there were two groups waiting to tee off in front of me. Then there was a group who finished 18 and walked right up to the tee box and tees off again on 1 after telling the group in front of me “we just need to get this hole finished and we’ll be out of your way, so if you don’t mind going back to your cart..?” Everyone was shocked. Play was incredibly slow overall. Course was in great shape, but lots of blind shots being hit into valleys, creeks, cut through roads, over hills, etc. which I’m personally just not a fan of... half the greens are flat as a board, the other half were like putting on a mound or in a bowl... very odd pin placements. Overall as mentioned the course was in great shape but it’s not a course I’d recommend, even at a fairly low price.

Cow pasture

Nice layout. The course needs to be mowed. I lost 3 balls that I drove in the middle of the fairway. Compared to the last two courses I played(Maggie Valley and Cummings Cove) this was by far in the worse shape. Not worth the money I paid.

Beautiful Mountain Layout

Lake Junaluska is a short, moderately easy course with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the lake. Perfect for average to short hitters, generous fairways generally lead to smaller, tough-to-hit greens. The course is in great shape, and after aeration a few weeks ago, the greens putt smooth and true. With par at 68, there’s still a few par 5s to test your fairway woods. The course layout itself is beautiful, as most of it is natural landscape, with very few houses visible. If you happen to be in the area, don’t pass this gem up!

Good Value

This course offers a great value for the price to play, and is in fair condition as of right now. I have played this course numerous times and it has helped me improve my golf game, being as I just started playing this past summer. My only complaint for this course is that the woman who works the front desk from time to time is the rudest and most stuck up woman I have ever encountered. She doesn't seem to care what the customer thinks, she just wants your money. I will most likely play here again, but I will be spending a lot more money at other courses in the area from here on out.

Fun course but...

I have played golf at Lake Junaluska numerous times and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I just took up golfing a few months ago and it's nice to have a cheaper course to play at to begin to improve my golf game. My only complaint is that the lady at the front desk who is there from time to time, is a massive jerk. You would think that being a christian group owned course they would think to hire someone that wasn't so stuck up and rude. Other than that, the course is great for the price.

Great Mountain Course

We This is a fun course for bogey shooter like me. Just challenging enough, but scoreable. I shot 78, 85, 79 for my three rounds. Great rounds for me. Beautiful scenery everywhere you look with lake and mountains. This time of year watch for the “leaf traps” in the fairway.

Gem in the Smokies

Great little course for a bogey golfer like me. You can score on this course, but it has challenging holes to keep you interested. A beautiful setting in a mountain valley by a lake.

Beautiful Mountain Course

This course is in a mountain valley in the Smokies in North Carolina. It borders a lake. It is a beautiful setting. The course was in good condition and was fun to play. I am an 18 handicap and shot a 78 that day. Best front nine of my life at 2 over par. Had a first time experience of leaf traps, so many leaves on the fairway, I lost my ball after a great drive in the middle of the fairway.

Nice, inexpensive course

This is a overall great course. The layout is one of the best I have played, and incorporates many moderately difficult, fun to play holes. There is no food or bar on site, however this is made up for by the great price. As I am under 16 I can play a 9-hole round for 5$. The greens are great and the fairway is a bit long but gives beggenirs something to hit off of.
