Great Course for the price
Lake Junaluska has a solid golf course. Great for beginners/Casual golfers and excellent for its price. It runs a bit short for pars, so experienced players may seek elsewhere for a solid challenge
Staff
Very rude staff, if your not a good ole boy you will be mistreated
Beautiful Views of Lake Junaluska
The area received heavy rains for the two previous days so we were surprised the course was even open. We were greeted with a friendly staffer at check-in. He explained that it was cart path only, but that was expected. The cart paths are dirt/gravel so they weee a bit muddy and bumpy. Considering the two previous days of rain, the course was in good condition. The greens were soft and held shots with any loft, but otherwise in good condition. There are a couple blind shot holes that previous play or course knowledge really helps. The back 9 is short (Par 33), but still fun to play. We always make this a “go to” course when we are in the area.
Love that course!
The course is well maintained and beautiful. Looking forward to playing again. Great staff and good food too!
Bank none layout
We love this course. The people there are fantastic and the staff are always fun and have a great attitude. The back nine has an odd layout but again we’re big fans of the lake!
Frustrated
20.00 for my wife to ride in the cart with me. I felt that this was too much considering that I was going to have the cart weather she went or not.
Fair Course, Frustrating Experience
The course was in fair condition, with some rough spots in the fairways and fringe that could use attention. Unfortunately, the overall experience left a lot to be desired.
Our twosome was paired with two other players (who were great). Despite being cart-path only, the course stacks tee times and then pressures groups to play faster than is reasonable. We played ready golf, took minimal practice swings, and didn’t lose or look for any balls—yet the marshal followed our group for several holes, repeatedly harassing us about pace of play.
To make matters worse, while standing on the green on the back nine, a ball from the group behind landed about a foot from me. The marshal witnessed it and did nothing.
If you’re looking for a relaxing, enjoyable round of golf, this probably isn’t the course for you.
