One of the best around
Easy to see why Fowler's Mill is so highly recommended! Country club quality course and very challenging. Excellent bunkers, best I've seen anywhere, and fast smooth greens! Really enjoyable round of golf!
Great course
Very impressed with how the course was and very affordable great staff will definitely be back more often
Good course but slooowwww
Course in great shape!! Greens rolling phenomenal for a public course. Only down side was the only ranger we saw never tried to speed anyone along. Just came over to tell us to fix our divots. 6 hour round and he was worried about divots. Which by the way we were fixing and pouring the sand mixture into the holes. Definitively treated us differently because we came thru GolfNow.
Great course if you have time. This was a Friday early afternoon and should have played faster.
Not for the weak of heart
This course demands accuracy. The greens were a bit slower than they have been in the past..which was actually nice since approaches were fairly easy to stick.. But if you're off target, you will pay dearly. Definitely in my top 3 northeast Ohio. A must play track.
Fowler Sustains Golfers and the Environment
Some years ago I walked this popular and busy course on a rainy, windy day during my son's golf tournament . My visit there in June was vastly different weather wise as the air was still, the sun bright, and the humidity high. But the course was just as popular as the last time I had seen Fowler. This beautiful and challenging course was a delight in spite of the pace and the heat. For those who appreciate such things, the course is ranked for being environmentally friendly and sustainable. Promoting the growth of native plants along the course to reduce the amount of turfgrass maintenance and watering needs is one of the characteristic features of sustainable courses such as Fowler's Mill. Kudos to the course for efforts to practice better environmental stewardship for the welfare of the employees, golfers, and wildlife.
Fowlers baby!
Love Fowlers but didn't like the pace of play for an early morning tee time during the week. Too slow for a week day and there was no ranger or water available throughout the entire day.
Great course
Fowlers Mill remains one of the best public courses in northeast Ohio where there are plenty of good courses to choose from. The layout is challenging with lots of trees, elevation changes, plenty of strategic sand traps and water. The course has tees to challenge every level of golfer and give each level of golfer a chance to enjoy the course. The course was in excellent shape. The greens are fast, but not slippery fast, and true. Played mid-week and the pace of play was not great - it took 4 1/4 hours for our threesome to complete the round.
Beautiful And challenging
A course you will come back for!
Sometimes can get crowded and no marshalls to move play. But generally it's a wonderful track with a nice clubhouse
5 Hour Round!
I've played the course a few times before when in the area to visit in-laws. Course has a diverse layout and the greens are smooth with a consistent roll. Unfortunately, the round played in just over 5 hours! We saw the beverage cart about 10 times during the round but NEVER saw a pace ranger. I will play again, but will prepare for a long day.
Top 10 Course in NEO, Pete Dye
I have played here many times, Fowler's Mill is a fantastic course. Easily one of the top ten public courses in NEO. It is challenging course, that plays longer than the scorecard. The front seems to be the tougher of the two nines, holes 4 and 6 specifically are a challenge. This course can beat up on level of player, but is still a beautiful and fun course.
I got out on Saturday morning at 7am after it rained about an inch, from 5-6. Conditions were wet and soft considering, but great considering. Because of the rain delay and an event in the middle of the day, they allowed groups to go off both sides. Staff is always super friendly and helpful. Do your self a favor and get a yardage book for a dollar in the pro shop before you tee off, will help you navigate the many holes.

One of Ohio's Best Public Courses
Played in reverse order, River, then Lakes. Tough pin placements everywhere. I thought the rough on the Lakes 9 was significantly longer and thicker. The starter confirmed that this was usually the case. I also thought, in general, that the Lakes 9 was more difficult. It all played like a typical Pete Dye course: Smooth, subtle greens and clear strategy, but shots that must be made. I played on a rather empty Tuesday so I got around quickly. I 'd love to play this again, now that I've had a look at it.
Great layout, bring insect repellent
Played as a foursome in 90 degree weather at 1 pm, so the course was not too busy. Prior visits here played the black tees, and this time we were playing green and cutting off yardage on each hole. As an average driver of the ball, I still prefer the black tees due to having some more choices on some holes, but I also did not have to use hybrid clubs almost the entire round. Be aware of the choices and distances with the split fairway holes, it seems the ball just seems to naturally want to work towards the hazard in the middle.
The only issue with the visit was the amount of deer flies or horse flies, which were all throughout the course. It was my fault for forgetting to bring insect repellent, but with the surrounding wetlands, lakes, rivers, and wooded areas, it would be a good item for the pro shop to have available to buy.
Greens were great.
The whole course played great, traps, fairways were in great conditions. Must play again this summer. The back tees was fun and I did putt for a number of birdies. speed of the greens were very true.
Great course!
Played the course while it was raining. Course did not hold water and played great! Amazing fairways and greens! Will be returning soon!
