Golfer Reviews
Beautiful, Challenging Course, starter was less than welcoming
Went out to play on a Sat. at around 2:30 with a foursome. Two newer golfers and two experienced but below average players (one of which is me). Course is set out in a beautiful area, with many long challenging holes. Only complaint was that the starter was kind of a jerk. He walked up to us and said "today is a bad day to bring those girls with you" before we started our round. I thought this was a little rude considering they were not that busy and we had already intended on playing a scramble. Other than that we had a great experience. Only thing to note is that this course is very LONG, and took a long time to play because of this. Pace of play was great as we had noone in front of us on the back 9.
Fowler's Mill
Very nice course with a challenging layout from the tips. Long and short par 4's as well as some tricky tee shots and split fairways. Very pretty course. Greens are firm, fast, yet fair. A course worth playing.
My new favorite course.
This is an awesome golf course. A Pete Dye gem. Risk/reward on almost every hole. The course conditions were immaculate. (I played the Lake/River 9's) Play was a little backed up on the first 9 holes as an outing was still finishing up. The back 9 played in normal time. Greens and fairways were near perfect. The rough was penal but not "stupid." If you haven't played here yet then you owe it to yourself to give it a try. You will not be disappointed. On a side note...there was no cart girl on 2nd nine, she had gone home for the day I guess. Seeing that it was really hot and I was thirsty as can be, I called the course from my mobile phone and asked if someone would bring my partners and I some water. They brought it right out to us. I appreciate that kind of service.
Nice Course
I like playing here, but for me its not very memorable. There are a few standout holes, but a few are kind of boring. Overall fairly challenging, especially the fast, undulating greens. If you can play this course for under $40 go for it, but sometimes their prices are too high.
Interesting and very different design
Had a lot of fun playing Fowlers Mill and would recommend it. Many unique holes requiring exact shots in order to stay out of trouble. A couple of Par 4's required you to have the ability to shape a tee shot to even possibly make GIR. The course had some long Par 3's but all were very reachable with some control. The only negatives for this day of play was the pace of play, it took us 5 hours and 15 minutes to complete a round, which was not expected for a Friday afternoon. I will play there again.
whats not to like about Fowlers Mill!
Simply one of the best golf courses in the Cleveland area, Greens were in fantastic shape. Tees and fairways were pristine, the only complaint I had was the 2 groups of front of us who didnt have much of a clue on how to let faster players thru but the course was flat out gorgeous!
very good course
this course requires thinking, its not a bang 'em type of course. you must place your shots to score well. hitting the fairway isn't good enough. conditions are well above average and there's nice scenery. it's Pete Dye's first course and worth a play for that reason alone.
Great Course
This course was really well maintained and had a variety of holes to challenge golfers of all abilities. Get out and golf this course!
It is a well maintained course with a lot of challenges.
One of the more difficult courses in NE OH that I have played but fair - good shots are not punished. The greens present challenge even on short putts.
Staff was very rude and took away some of enjoyment of the round. Would not recommed the course due to this.

Nice
Best maintained course I have played all year. Very challenging as always.
fowlers mill
This is a great track. Played it for the fourth time on June 8. Fairways and greens are in great shape. Course itself is an ok challenge but the greens will test even the purest putters.
Great Course, Good Price
The course was in great condition, and for $55 is the best value
Pete Dye's Diabolical Design
This is one of Pete Dye's first ever designs and it resides right here in Northeast Ohio! How lucky are we? Enough said. Get out here and play the Lake/River and enjoy the round. The course is tough but fair and the views and the scenery are spectacular.
Very slow play
Awesome course, got to play the River and Lake which are the best 18 out of the 27 holes they have! Unfortunately too many groups in a row so very slow play and we could not play through
The course is great, the pace play is painful
Fowler's Mill is a gem. The coure is always a great challenge. Many different level players love to come out and enjoy the course. The pace of play was painful. It took over 3 hours to play the Lake course. We were hitting a shot and waiting and waiting and waiting. It was a couple of groups in front of our group that were very slow. I actually played the third nine Maple just to able to nine holes of golf without having to wait fifteen minutes between shots.
This course was better than advertized. The fairways were plush and the greens were fast.
After not being able to get to Fowlers Mill for a decade, we were happy to see not much has changed. The facility was Fantastic !! Condotions were very well maintained. Although the course was very challenging from the medium tees, you were rewarded for being in the fairway, without being overly penalized for just missing the fairway. Speed of play was excellent. Defineatly going back this year.
Very nice
The course is in amazing condition for this time of the season. Always have loved the layout, and the pricing was very reasonable. Walked all 27 holes in about 5 and a half hours
