Blue Heron Pines Golf Club
About
The Blue Heron Pines Golf Club consists of two award-winning courses called the East and the West. Located 15 minutes outside of Atlantic City, these public golf courses provide a challenging game and have been touted by many New Jersey publications as the best 18-hole course on the Jersey Shore.
Each golf course had a different designer so they do have some differences. The West Course is relatively flat with narrow fairways and fast greens. Water hazards also come into play on seven holes. The East Course on the other hand features wide fairways and difficult bunkers. The East Course also follows a links-style layout and is meant to be played fast and firm. For those who want to play the courses but aren't at the top of their game yet, the club offers golf instruction.

Course was in very good shape except for the aerated greens which are a necessity.
Aerated
Greens and Fairways are rated 2 days ago and no notification given. It will be beautiful in a few weeks but not yesterday
Getting better as Work is in progress ..
Laurel view
Played on December 26th 9am. Two days after snow and heavy rain. The wind is hauling as regular. The course was wet but in great shape for winter condition for CT.
Tony Roberto is the man in charge, PGA pro who’s given the task to rescue this degrading course. He is taken, still taking care over grown trees and roots which has caused damage to the fairways and green. They also had provide unnecessary shade to the greens. There is plenty of urgent work completed. But Tony has long path including renovating the club house. The new white sand in traps are in, the grass growing looks healthier and the course has been in better shape then in 10 years. The only part is the wood chips are spread out some courses but that’s understandable when course is getting over hauled The local golfers I played with, are already singing praise. The course design is interesting with elevation changes playing through ledges and hills. Elevation changes makes 160y plays to 190y and then hauling wind that affects the course.. all part of great design. Wind really affect Hole 6, 7, 9, 16, 17 and 18. 7 and 9 reminded me old course which shares greens. Another great move was taking down trees on 18th to risk reward 300yard dog leg left. Lot of work has been performed and lot more work is cut out for Tony. This time he has resources to make right renovation by summer 2022 to a completely new course. I think Tony is the right person to take on this challenge. I am very excited to play renovated course in summer of 2022.
King Tony
Course was in great shape for end of November. Especially the greens. True and fast. Slow play on the back nine but that’s life at a semi public course nowadays.
Very enjoyable course
This was a a very nice course. Played in November and would play again. Only finished 14 holes, 35-45 mph winds and a 15 degree temperature drop made the conditions unreasonable.
nice round on perfect day
everything was great except pace of play on back nine
understandable as public course on sept like day in november
blue heron is always good golf at fair value
Last time I played here was over 15 yrs ago..... I was a little disappointed in the condition of the course now. The course now looks like it has been neglected pr maybe it was because of Fall condition?? This was especially noticeable around the greens.....
Friendly Staff, decent condition, SLOW PLAY
The course staff was excellent!
The course was in good shape.
The greens were consistent.
WE WAITED ON EVERY SHOT. 5+ hour round. No ranger. There were at least two holes open in front of 3 or 4 groups ahead.
For the price they charge, the pace should be 4 hours or less.
When I asked the gentleman in the pro shop if 5 hours+ was the norm, he said no but questioned me as if I wasn’t callable of knowing the course was slow. I’m a + handicap and have worked in the business since 1999.
Overall, I’d okay here again because I like the track. Just do something to make slow groups pick up the pace.
