Golfer Reviews
Yardage
Excellent manicured course not adequate yard markers distance from hole
T Boxes & Fairways In Tuff Shape
I play MR about 8 times per season and am usually impressed w/the shape of the course. Not so today...the t boxes and fair ways need help...there was a lot of divots everywhere’. C’mon Troon!? Also, this is too hilly a course not to have single cart usage. Carrying a bag or pushing a cart is a killer on this course. Just hire someone to clean and disinfect the carts and get them out there already. Thank you
A great golf course
A Jack Nicklaus signature course. And it plays like one.
Appropriate risk/reward challenges, super bunker placement, open fairways that you can miss your spots but still have a chance to make par, but have to make a great shot. In other words, you are rewarded/penalized for your shots. Golf.
I stood on several tees and said to myself “what a great golf hole”. It’s scenic, and varied, although there were plenty of 400 plus yard par 4s, so bring your long game.
Conditions of the fairways could be better, but it’s early in the season and they were aerating in preparation for seeding. Greens ran well, bunkers had enough sand, rough was coming in and I hope it stays punitive but not impossible.
This being in the time of coronavirus, the course was walking only, and I would recommend that you be in decent condition for this place. Plenty of elevation change, and it clocked in at just over 8 miles. I gave 5 stars for the staff and the clubhouse, even though it was off limits.
I had to drive an hour to get here. I paid a premium price to walk. I will do it again very soon I hope.
Wet and Covid Spring Round
I've played this course close to 100 times. It was in pretty good condition this day, even though it was raining, cart path only, and a bit chilly in early spring. Played as a twosome. Never had to wait. Everyone took their own carts and small rims prevented the ball from going in the hole. There were only 2 Tees to hit from. Feels like they cleaned up a lot of the holes, taking down trees in some areas and cleaning up undergrowth (trees to the right of the green on 6). Clubhouse was closed but nice to have them open, considering a week later the entire state shutdown.
Great Staff and very nice golf course . good variety of golf holes.
Closed
Course was closed. But they didnt tell me. Waste my time and gas.
Hidden gem
Played here for the first time and totally loved it. The layout is phenomenal and challenging. There are no tricks when you play here the course is what you see. Can't wait to play here again in a couple of weeks. Worth every penny!
Course is always so wet!! Casual water on every hole!
This course would be great if they can find some ay to drain all the water on the course. The entire course is casual water. Even the highest points on the course is casual water. You ball will have no roll, a d will plug 80% of the time. The best part of this course is the greens, except when we played they were bumpy, sandy, and did roll true. The greens are well maintained and groomed, yet they are so much slower then they look or should be. You can hold and spin full swing wedge shots, but you can't get the ball to check up around the green. JUST A WEIRD COURSE!
