Personal Best Round
I live close by and play here quite often. I gave them an excellent rating on value because of the hot rate deal I got but normally their prices are just average. It was hot and muggy but my play was good. I was matched up with 3 people I did not know but they were an absolute joy to play with. My only complaint would be that I paid full price for a cart and then I was told I needed to get in with the other single in a cart without a price reduction.
A gem in NE Portland
Long, difficult par 5's and interesting short par 4's define the course. The greens were in good, but not great condition. I found a lot of hard pan lies where I probably should not have, but that was often because I just missed the fairway or green.
It was a great Fathers Day.
Good shape
The course was in overall good shape. The greens were a little bumpy but otherwise rolling nicely.
Glendoveer east course
Greens are very uneven and need to be rolled and taken better care of if they want to charge 40 dollars for 18 holes (plus $15 for a power cart per rider)
There are better courses to play for the same money. Save your time and money and play somewhere else.
Pretty OK for $40 + cart
I can think of plenty of other courses I can play for that much $$.
BAD
I do not want play here anymore.
very bad course condition, bad foods, and bad Facilities, but only have cheap value.
Anyway, It was a very bad experience to play golf here.
lumber yard
I get that it is early spring, however I don't think that there is any excuse for tree branches on the fairways . The greens were in fair condition given the time of year, but the overall conditions of the course was not.
BUGS!
Very bad mosquito issue on the back 9 on the east side. Our great weather has not helped but I was eaten alive by them from 14 on.
Awesome day of golf
I have played Glendoveer - East a half a dozen times and found Saturday the best conditions, I have seen. The fairways were very well groomed, the greens were fast and consistent, and the pace of play was excellent. We saw the Marshall at least 4 times talking to groups to keep the play moving. My foursome thanked me multiple times for setting up the outing at your course. I also understand that you replaced the golf carts recently.
Generous fairways
In all the times I have played this course, I have never seen such tough pin placements. We would get to the greens and not see a more difficult spot where the holes were set. It looked like the pin placements of a final round on the PGA! We did a lot of three and four puts. It just did not match the moderate level of difficulty of this course. Other than that, it is an enjoyable course.
Glendoveer East
Course was in OK shape given the time of year. Very hilly course with lots of trees.
course unkept
Really soft/wet most places..too many leaves on ground.. Grass too high
Fun starter course
People taking up the game should be able to have a great time on this course. The more discerning golfer will find the course too wet and greens too soft. Perhaps in the summer conditions would be more demanding. They could improve by working on drainage and sanding for the wetter seasons of the year.
Amazing
This was our first time playing the west side. We always play the East side. I love the East side, that was until I we played the west side. This course is just perfect. It will be a hard choice the next time we play as to what course we will choose.
Terrible Staff and worst customer service
This course in the last 1 1/2 has taken a sharp turn for the WORSE. Last three experience have been beyond a nightmare. The staff has become complacent and really don't care about anything regarding customer service at all. I will never golf here again. No management or accountability within the staff or head golf pro. The course is in poor shape and the conditions are not maintained at all 2-3 inches of weeds on the tee boxes. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COURSE AT ALL.
Convenient, but nothing special
The west course was not terribly challenging or memorable. It's a convenient course minutes from downtown, but the course design, maintenance, and staff leave something to be desired.
I will say that there were some members of the staff that were exceptional, but the girl in the pro shop and one course marshall left a poor taste in my mouth. That I played at Skamania the next day, where the service was impeccable, probably isn't improving the way I remember Glendoveer.
Anyway, my gripes, other than the easy course design: When showing up shortly before my tee time, I was rushing to get the the tee box asked a course marshall where the first tee was. He pointed me in the direction of the tee box and said "it's down at the end of the blue barn. You can try to make it, but you need to hurry." He wasn't horrible to me, but certainly didn't win any bonus points. The girl in the pro shop answered 2 phone calls before she acknowledged me. A simple "can you hang on 1 second while I get this" would have been nice.
I'll golf here again, but only when I'm confined to the city. Too many other courses within a short drive.
Price
Price is very reasonable and staff is very friendly
