Brunswick Golf Club - Magnolia/Dogwood
About
Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort is a 27-hole layout located in the fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina, abut 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.
It has three distinct nines: the Magnolia, Azalea and Dogwood. On all nines, you need to hit the ball straight off the tee, taking care of the fairway bunkers, some of which are fairly high-lipped. The course has quick, bent-grass greens, moderately large, and lush, well-tended fairways set amidst tall, Carolina pines.
On the magnolia course, there are water holes, and the course is heavily mounded and bunkered.

Spring Golf! Photo submitted by Sshipper on 03/09/2022
Very nice course
Course was in really good condition as there had been a lot of rain the past week to week and a half. Lots of challenging holes and greens are in good condition. Greens are very challenging as there are really no flat parts which can be very frustrating in trying to lag a putt. I would still come back and try this course again though.
Little rain, Cart path only!
Brunswick Plantation is a very pretty course and we certainly played when the Azaleas were in full bloom. Enjoyable layout with a variety of holes. I am a single digit handicap and my wife is a high handicapper. We both enjoyed the course. Sadly it was cart path only and the pace of play was slow! I hate slow play!! They are obviously working on the course. Greens were not in prime shape and pace of greens was slow. Good value is you get a Hot Deal price.
Fun course
Course was in good shape first round after long Vermont winter pace of play could have been better pre made sandwich at the turn left a lot to be desired overall good time will return
Battle at Brunswick
Overall very good layout, started early and finished in 4hrs
interesting course
Greens and tees were great. Fairways were a little thin. Each hole is different and you have to hit a lot of different clubs. Several risk/ reward holes so driver isn't needed on every hole. Played 18 and never saw another group in front or behind us.
Nice design
We found a lot of the holes to be nicely designed requiring accurate tee shots one almost every hole. The wind was really up the day we played making it challenging but I would like to play this course again. Some of the course needed some better grass conditions but overall it was a good round for this time of year.
Save your time and money!
This was by far the worst golf course I have EVER played on... There is no grass to speak of on the fairways, just hard dirt... You can't hit off them or even around the greens without either sculling your shots or hurting your wrists! The only thing worth while were the greens...save your money and time and go elsewhere, even the members I played with were upset and embarrassed about the course conditions.
Cart path only
Great course challenging layou but playable the day we played was cart path only so we did a lot of walking which slowed play and made it a long game
Would play again over many courses I played this winter season
Very nice course.
Beautiful course, well maintained. Staff was very efficient.
local
Played here many times. Actually live on the course. Course was in decent shape for this time of year. Bunkers looked to being worked on. Improving the edges. Were very playable. Greens were fast but could probably need rolling. Quite a few footprints visible with the soft conditions.
Nice course
This is a challenging course even for someone who CAN work the ball. A lot of doglegs, left and right. The course was very soft and wet which increased the yardage, but the greens putted well and true. I would definitely play again. Leave your Discover card at home, they're snooty about not accepting it!
Amazing for February.
Fairways and greens were in excellent condition for February. Layout is fantastic. Really enjoyed and looking forward to playing against SOON!
Excellent Course
Decided to play this course again within a week. Staff was fantastic so no fluke. Due to recent heavy rains, bunkers were not in great shape. Overall, a great experience.
Nice Course
Very pretty course, even for late December. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would play this course again in a heart beat.
Very Nice Course
First impression was looks like a nice course and the staff was friendly. The course was very well maintained and scenic. I always try to play a different course everytime I come down here and this was the best I have played so for this winter. I do have some favorites that I replay once in a while and this one will be on that list now. Just wish Golf Now had more courses on their list to be able to play.
No jeans allowed
For $19 for 9 holes, would have though jeans in 40 degree temps would have been acceptable. No mention at time of booking, turned away at arrival for our foursome.
Great Course
Great rate on GolfNow. Very good course with 27 holes. Played Magnolia and Dogwood.
Worth the drive
A little out of the way from Myrtle Beach, but worth the trip. Course is very nice as is the clubhouse. Not much roll on the fairways so it played 10% longer than the card. Condition of course is excellent but many players do little or nothing to repair ball marks or rake bunkers. Getting to be a sad "normal" in golf lately.
First time at Brunswick Plantation
Played Dogwood/Azalea course. Challenging but fair. Greens on this property are outstanding, i.e., quick, but true. I recommend this course to anyone.
