About
Brunswick Plantation & Golf Resort is a 27-hole layout located in the fishing village of Calabash, North Carolina, abut 20 minutes north of Myrtle Beach.
It has three distinct nines: the Magnolia, Azalea and Dogwood. On all nines, you need to hit the ball straight off the tee, taking care of the fairway bunkers, some of which are fairly high-lipped. The course has quick, bent-grass greens, moderately large, and lush, well-tended fairways set amidst tall, Carolina pines.
On the magnolia course, there are water holes, and the course is heavily mounded and bunkered.

Great staff. Bad pace of play.
3 sets of 9...first set of 9 was going great until 7th hole. They had some kind of outing, maybe the Saturday morning members play...but whatever reason...we played 6 holes in an hour 15. Took another hour 10 to play 3 more holes. When we made the turn at 10....I jumped to 18 and drove backwards to see what the hold up was. 18 through 16 had nobody...then it was 6some, 4some, 4some, 5some, 4some, 4some, 4some, 4some then my 3some.
Some holes were 3 groups deep because of that lead group slowing up everyone. That's a ranger issue. I get they were probably playing for money, points, whatever...but an hour 10 minutes to play 3 holes...and slowing down from there is not right. I play 16 to 18 and left.
Thought about playing some on the other 9 set but went home instead.
With that said...course layout is ok. Ho hum...nothing spectacular, but nothing really bad either. Maintained very well for this time of year. They had a ton of rain a day or so before but still allowed driving on fairways, so kudos for that. Drained well.

Had a tremendous day even though it was 12 degrees or 51. Lots of people out and met a couple from who joined us. Thanks for making such an enjoyable time Tom and Tracey from Loooooongisland. Couldn't have had a better day Starter warned us we might be slow on Magnolia but wasn't the case. Everything made for great outing including price. Conditions were amazing for Winter Golf and Employees super nice. Great memories.

The guys at the bag drop were great.
The golf shop staff was less than welcoming. No hello or good morning when we came in to pay.
The bartender, was more interested in doing books or something than getting us a drink.
Well kept course
Tee boxes nice. Fairways nice. Greens rolled nice. Great layout. Water hazards on a few holes. Great course for the value. Will definitely return to play here.

Good greens, dufferent look
Surprised by the 2 different grasses of the green they still rolled well. Very receiptive. Good course conditions, I will be going back. Superbe club house.
Typical Winter Conditions
The grass appears mostly dormant and the fairways are thin, but we had a good time. The bunkers are poorly maintained, but I guess this is typical for a winter golf experience. It is a nice layout. I would give it another try in the spring, summer or fall.
The greens were sub par bumpy and very irregular
Condition very unusual for this course
Excellence with perfection.
Great course for my son and I to play. The atmosphere from the clubhouse to the bag drop off. To the fairways and the bunkers. Great experience.
