The staff are very friendly and helpful the course is in great shape and the greens are great too. Love this course I will be back next week.
Great outing
Staff was excellent and the course is the best around here
2020 Visit
Course in great shape & fun to play, fast greens. Range was closed so tough to warm up on cool mornings! Last year course can be played before being converted into office space so enjoy this great track while you still can.
Wasn’t allowed to play
Unfortunately due to the covid19 restrictions I wasn’t able to play. My girlfriend and I were looking forward to playing, but were turned away after driving a half hour to the course. Pro shop employees refused to allow my girlfriend and I to play. We even offered to pay for a second cart. Please let me know what I should do.
Great Public Course
This is the nicest public course in Charlotte. It’s pricier than other public courses, but the pace is always better, the course is far nicer and the experience is overall great.
Not the usual Ballantyne Resort
Greens were much slower than they normally are but still very nice. Bunkers were a disaster. Footprints everywhere and we played early. Not sure what that was about. Just glad we didn’t drop $80 on a weekend to deal with that. Normally course is in great shape.
Golf now error?
Had to play the same nine holes due to a disc golf event. Not aware till arrived. Course is not worth $20 more than others.
Lovely course
The course was excellent I will be back to play it with my friend, staff was grate I love it
Do Not Pay More Than $35
Course is in rough shape, especially when they want $60+ to play. People in pro shop were very polite, but the course has fallen into bad shape.
Still the best course in Charlotte
I've played this course dozens of times, and I never regret playing here. This time was a little different, but speaks to the staff that works both at the golf course and resort.
I had booked a tee time a few weeks prior, and a few days before, received an email stating that because of a tournament being overbooked - they could no longer honor my tee time. While frustrated, I said I understood and asked if they had anything else available that week. They did not, but they offered me two complimentary rounds to make up for it to be used at any time.
As a single, I usually am paired up with the variety of golfers this course brings out - and I've never had a bad experience with anyone. I arrived for my 8:20 tee time around 7:50 thinking I'd hit some putts and a few chips. The starter politely asked if I wished to tee off ahead of everybody and could play alone, or if I wanted to wait and join a group of 3 at my scheduled tee time. I went out and played alone, and finished in under 2.5 hours.
The fact that this course is going to be closing is disappointing to say the least.
Where was the Ranger!?!?!
5 hours in the fall/winter is too d@mn long. Group in front was a hole behind and the ranger never says anything to the group. People passed us giving up as they knew they would not finish 18 holes before dark. Lack of pace of play is bull $@?!&@ Heard the course is closing at the end of 2019. Looks like they don’t give a $@!! about pace of play. Plus this place is always too d@mn expensive for the course and area. Only play when deals can be found. Might be a good thing if it does close by the end of the year.
Pretty Good Course, Play it Soon
The course and greens are nice. It is tucked into and around a collection of 7-10 story office buildings. Makes for some interesting backdrops and you'll usually have some kind of audience staring down from their cubes. Play it soon though, as it will be consumed by the expanding office complex in 2020. The real estate is more valuable vertically than it is as a resort course.
She's gonna miss this place!
The first course she ever played. She loves Ballantyne! We're both gonna miss it big time.
Gonna Miss This Place
I hate Hate HATE that they're gonna be closing!
Place of play too slow
I was so pleased with the condition of the greens. This long hot summer had little effect on these well kept greens. Place of play was terrible. Had a 20 minute late start and got worse from there. Only saw the Marshall twice but that was on the 13th and 15th, by then it was too late. Round took 5 1/2 hours with a three some.
The course was in great shape, it was Hot out there , the course sent out ice cold towels for everyone.Hope to play again soon
Excellent resort course, but pricey without a deal.
I play this course via Golfpass free hot deal (monthly). Large staff keeps course in excellent shape, but all those guys cost money and rack rates are high. Fairways are good and greens are speedy most of the time. Good mix of holes, but some are fairly short. Don't know how long this course will be open, as new owner/developer takes over.
