Approach shot on one of the holes.. shows the average putting green condition Photo submitted by dmhj4evr on 09/30/2013
Greens were in great shape, course looks better than in the fall
Decent 18 hole course
First time playing there. Greens were slower than I’m used too. The layout was interesting.
Bumpy greens
You know when you think, “There’s no way these greens are as bad as the practice green.” Well they were. If I had a putt with grass all the way between my ball and the cup I was fortunate. They are obviously doing work on the course so maybe in a couple months they’ll be better. Today they were the worst I’ve seen around Charlotte.
Affordable nice course.
Although going thru some changes Harry Jones course is affordable & accessible with interesting holes & scenic views. Like many courses the pace of play is an issue w/ no marshaling & one twosome holding up several groups b/c of their slow play.
Not worth 5 bucks
Terrible. Probably the worst golf course in Charlotte. Do not waste your money course is absolutely unplayable!!!!!!!
Terribke
This has to be the worst golf course in Charlotte. Absolutely unplayable. Location needs to shut down and at least make the greens playable. I wouldnt go. Back for free that's how bad it is right now
Worst shape I’ve seen it.
I’ve played here many times over the years and usually the greens aren’t too good. Recently they’re border line unplayable.
Course
Course design was great. Could've beena really nice course. The poor condition and the greens are terrible. Will never go back until they do a full 180.
Respect for the Course
We had a group cut in front of us at the turn. We played the front in less than 2 hours and the back in 2 1/2 hours. They were a threesome and so were we.... they rode on the fairways when it was cart pat only but still managed to develop a two hole gap after 5 holes as we were behind a twosome on the front.
Instead of beating traffic home, I got caught in some rush hour traffic. Others were violating the cart path only.
Nice Layout
This course is fun! It’s not in the best shape but who cares?! You are probably not that good anyway. Just enjoy yourself for the 4-6 hours you are out there looking for your ball and foot wedging your way around 18 holes.
This course has a great layout and some fun holes. Clubhouse is definitely old school but that is what makes it fun. Friendly, accommodating staff too. You don’t get that at those stuffy golf clubs. Enjoy!
