Reading Country Club
About
Opened in 1923, Reading Country Club is one of the area's oldest golf courses. Located less than a half hour from King of Prussia, the course is easily accessible from anywhere in the greater Berks County area. Though it has a traditional layout that doesn't have the length that most modern courses do, that hasn't stopped it from being one of the most challenging public golf courses in Berks County. The rolling terrain provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. The course will test you with lightning fast, undulating greens that are protected by sand traps and there is punishing rough bordering the narrow, tree-lined fairways. Be prepared for uphill shots and blind approaches throughout the golf course. Reading Country Club's par 3s are especially notable for their difficulty.

Golfer Reviews
Old School gem
Played Reading on a Tuesday Afternoon. Course was not crowded and times are more available than most with reasonable rates. The new EZ GO carts were nice. The greens were excellent! Fairways very good but starting to brown some from recent hot, dry weather. Tees were good and rough had some clover, but I'm ok with that. The only real issue was bunkers. They definitely need some work. ( I was fortunate enough to avoid them but they were visibly bad). Overall an interesting course that's a good value. Course has hills and many shade trees which is nice on a hot summer day.
Eastern Pa Gem
This course has a traditional layout and a great set of greens. Definitely the best conditioned greens I've played all year. Not a long course but one where you have to play smart and hit many different shots. Three of the par 3s are truly outstanding. If you want an enjoyable round give this course a try. You won't be disappointed. Only disappointing item was snack bar really didnt have much to offer after the round.
Very good shape
Courses in very good shape, greens were smooth and holding well. Not super fast but not slow either.
One of my favorite old school courses.
Excellent course
I need to play on Tuesdays more often because pace of play was amazing. Course was well kept
Course is playing great
Probably the best condition I've seen this course.
Greens were rolling pretty smooth but receiving shots well.
Fairways we're in very nice condition (I'm sure the grounds crew is happy for a break in the wet weather).
Rough, truely a test and a penalty for being out of position.
Only thing are the bunkers, some have been renovated and are good, others are awaiting their facelifts.
Overall a very nice course and layout.
not the best course for winter golf
Just one complaint.....the greens needed mowing and were very, very slow
Classic Old School Course
I have often felt the fan of old school courses should seek out any and all Alex Findlay courses and this one fits the bill. Several wild and unique greens to go with a great layout.
Reading CC
Enjoyed playing this course on visit over thanksgiving holiday. Good challenge and would return if in the area
Great place to play
Course is in great condition other than traps that need some additiional sand and raking. Friendly staff and new carts. Will definately return to play again.
