Olde Point Golf & Country Club
About
Olde Point Golf & Country Club sprawls across a rolling landscape covered with mature trees, sparkling blue lakes, and meandering streams. Native vegetation is abundant across the gentle hills. It is a course that is both scenic and challenging. Built in 1975, it opened to the public a year later although members enjoy guaranteed tee times. The many water features all over the course come into play frequently and there are also strategically placed bunkers lurking beside the greens. The doglegs are no easy feat either. From the championship tees, the golf course is a formidable test that requires well placed shots but the three other tees provide a gentler game that is more approachable for beginners. In addition to the golf course, Olde Point also has a grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

We weren't treated fairly
The course wasn't bad. We had a guy that ruined our round by hitting balls at us and using racial slurs and threatening us. And the staff didn't do much to help us.
Golf
We decided to give Old Pointe a try again after not playing it for a year.
The putting greens were in decent condition but a little slow due to wetness. The fairways were hit and miss (much like my tee shots!) with some not in great shape. The course lay-out is fine for an average golfer.
Our foursome was able to finish our round in approx. 3 hours and 40 minutes.
Great old school course.
Played here because we couldn't get on Ironclad. Glad we did as Ironclad personnel were just rude.
Unfortunately, Olde Point layout involves multiple busy road crossings where vehicles do not slow down and there are no crossing lights. Its Mad Max in a golf cart. Really stupid the municipality doesn't have crossing lights.
That being said, the layout is wonderful. No repeated holes and 5 tee box lengths.
GPS was modern but stinky gas carts. We would normally walk and it is walkable except for the aforementioned roads.
The food is outstanding and they serve ODB on tap..so good.
Still improving the course.
Iron Clad has continued to work on the course and facilities since they have reopened the course. The irrigation system have helped to improve the fairways and the greens. Clearing of trees and bushes have improved views and play.
They are now working on the cart paths after replacing the bridge leading to the 17th hole.
A complete renovation of the driving range and chipping green has also been completed.
Slow greens and high roughs
Course was empty so pace was great. Tee boxes were all put together from middle tees except for forward tees. Mowers were mowing everywhere while we were playing. Greens were Velcro and high roughs swallowed balls. The cart was saying restricted area while on the path the whole back nine. Great layout so well be back.
Olde Point
Pro shop staff very friendly and helpful to golfers playing Olde Point for the first time. Tee boxes in bad shape. Fairways had some rough spots. Greens are very slow. Nice layout. Friendly 19th hole. Good value for a nice layout for the money.
Not too shabby
For the price, I personally enjoyed the round. Tough course with challenging play. Some rough greens, but overall, not terrible conditions.
