Golfer Reviews
excellent layout, 9 holes in valley and 9 holes on mountain
beautiful course, very well maintained. some very challenging holes but overall excellent play for all levels. our foursome was a blend of handicaps, everyone just enjoyed the day. excellent staff, just great hospitality. will definitely return.
Beautiful setting.
The course is in great condition from tee to green. Lot's of water and doglegs. A number of the greens slope front to back with downhill approach shots. Be careful.
Best kept Secret in North Carolina
I play golf on the weekends at courses all over the Southeast from March to October. This gem of a course nestled in the mountains of Maggie Valley, NC is my absolute favorite of all the courses I've played. The front nine down in the valley is totally different from the back nine up in the hills which requires the golfer to put their thinking caps on before making every shot. If you are in the area, you have got to play this course. It's the best kept secret in North Carolina so please don't tell anybody how much you loved it after you play your round. LOL!!!!!
Perfect in every way!
This is an absolutely wonder place to unwind and enjoy yourself! When reserving a condo, your best bet is to request a unit that you have stayed in or referred to by a friend. We are familiar with unit 202A that is absolutely beautiful and very comfortable with 55" flat screens in the living room and a 50" in the master, newer comfy mattresses, fireplace, screened porch overlooking the course. Ask to stay in unit 202A and you will not be disappointed. Enjoy!
Maggie Valley is the place to be in August
The weather is perfect. The scenery is awesome. The course is really two different themes; the front is a parkland like setting, the back is a mountain course.
The staff is terrific here. They are always friendly and they make you fell like a member at a private course. The conditions are mixed. The greens are in terrific shape. Some of the fairways had damaged spots. Not terrible but certainly noticeable.
It is a fun place to play. Well worth the fees. The scenery is memorable and keeps me going through the hot Florida Summer as I think about the anticipation of playing a fun round in perfect weather.
Beautiful course; Great greens; Great Staff
The course was in great shape and very beautiful. Greens were as good or better than any I've played in a while. The front nine is flat, and the back nine is hilly, but nothing too extreme. Nice clubhouse, and grill also. Will definitely play again
My review is really highlighted by the helpful staff they have working there. I showed up Saturday August 26th ready to play at 9am, only to find out I had accidently booked my round on the Saturday the week before... They immediately offered to try to work me in, and on top of that, honored that I had paid the week before, and didn't make me pay again. There are not too many courses that I know of that would have gone above and beyond like they did to fit us in during prime time Saturday morning. It really was appreciated!
1/2 Flat + 1/2 Mountain = A Good time
This half and half course is in good condition but the greens are to slow and not the same speed from hole too hole. Play this course in the fall during color season you will not regret. You can walk this course only if you are a member
Beautiful
Always enjoy playing here. Course is in good condition. Greens a little bit slow. Tight fairways. Beautiful scenery.
The course and bunkers are in very good shape. Some greens faster than others, but overall very good. Staff is some of best that I have experienced. Definitely will play again next year.
A little bit of everything
I live less than 2 miles from this course but would gladly pass other courses to get to this one. Every time I play here I'm met with friendly staff and a well maintained course. The front nine is mostly flat in the valley, and the back nine is great mountain golf. I highly recommend this course.
This course is always in great condition
Fun to play! Frount nine is realitive flat. Back nine is very hilly. Views are spectacular, especially in the Fall. Rates are reasonable as long as you catch a GN Hot Deal. Greens are a little tricky but reasonable. Flat land golfers will have a bit of a challenge, but a enjoyable experience.
Well maintained, challenging
Recent rains reduced roll and caused plugging. Greens fast. Fairway was course cut, I'm sure as result of rain. Greens fast and boxes adequate. Good, prompt food service at the turn.
Nice layout
Greens were great. As were fairways. Traps a bit firm. Ball rolled through a couple. Rough was deep. Lost a ball in rough. Back 9 has lots of elevation change.
