The Landing at Pleasant Point
About
Playing just 6,642 yards from the tips, The Landing at Pleasant Point is a pleasing play for all level of golfer, making it one of the most popular golf courses in the Hilton Head region.
A Russell Breeden design, The Landing at Pleasant Point features rolling fairways and spectacular views. One of its main draws, however, is its price tag: It's one of the most affordable golf courses in the area.
Normally in good condition, it's a golf course that will reward accuracy and punish shots of folly; it's not too hard though, with a moderate 130 slope rating from the tips.
Nature lovers will enjoy the wildlife on the golf course. You'll see plenty of critters wandering about, and perhaps even deer or alligators.

Joke
Paid 35 to play not worth 20 bucks. No cart path mud dirt sand and bare spots on greens. Greens were not cut and thicker than my carpet. Drove an hour to play the course not happy.
Beautiful area, good layout
Course could be in better shape, but loved the design of the holes. Unfortunately we were behind a new golfer on the front 9 which took 3 hours to play. Thankfully they left for 2nd 9. Carts were clean and peppy. Beverage selection was excellent at the turn. Lovely day to play. We will try it again sometime.
Terrible staff
I use to go to this course once a week if not every other week. Always loved playing this course but I havent been there in 2 years for 1 reason. The staff here is absolutely terrible. The lady working behind the counter is CONSTANTLY rude to the point that I'm so mad when I leave the pro shop I dont even enjoy my round. Last time i played there i said i wouldnt go back until that was fired.. still waiting for that day sadly.
Nice but needs work
Found the layout to be interesting but the fairways need watering as they are very hard and the greens need work.
Great value
The course was a great value. The course it’s was a little rough but still very playable. I enjoyed my round. Lost of wildlife is present and some very nice views. I feel the course will be a real gem in the not so distant future. I will play again as it a Nice value on Lady’s Island.
Nice course
4 of us on vacation. Tee time was 1pm and the weather was sunny 50 degrees. I enjoyed the course but the greens were not in great shape and the sand traps still had some water from all the rain.
Hidden jewel
The drive to the course is delightful, Checkin, easy and the course a delight. The unusual layout was enjoyable as it was a sunny warm day. The challenges are evident, and make a round here memorable.
Treat yourself to this great golf experience!
Course could be beautiful
Winter conditions applied, little green grass and airiated greens, but few fellow golfers to spoil the pace of play. Staff could not have more pleasant.
Nice little gem off the beaten path
Great little course for the money, beautiful sights, nice layout. They are working to restore it to its former glory so its not perfect but it's great fun for the money. It's a fair fun course for the money!
Needs a lot of work
I took a chance on this course, based on other reviews. I am not sure if I was disappointed, but, I will not be back. The layout is not bad, but the tees, fairways, greens, bunkers, were all sub-standard. The carts, however, were very nice Yamaha gas units, which were nice and very quiet. I am not sure how much of the issues are due to the amount of play they get, but, all I can say is, quite generous gimmies and improved lies were the rule of the day, due to conditions. Gentleman in pro shop was very nice, by the way. All in all, it was not worth the drive over from Hilton Head Island.
Great Course for the price
There are a lot nicer courses out there but this one was very nice for the price and you can see a lot of potential for this course. You can’t expect a lot for the price but I would sure play it again and if you have a chance to play I would tell you to.
Great value. Needs work.
The only disappointment about the course were the greens. They were horrible. The course was still challenging and fun for our group.
The course staff were great to talk to and explained the history of the course. It was essentially defunct a few years ago and purchased. The new owners have been working hard to restore it to its previous quality which I understand was very good.
I would recommend this course to any novice or intermediate golfer.
Bad greens
The course has plenty of potential to be great. The views are hard to beat, but the greens and the sand traps are not well kept. Some of the tee boxes were over grown. If the course was better maintained this would easily be a five star course.
What a great layout!
Current owners have put a great deal of time and effort into bring this course back from the brink. Play it ...you will not be disappointed.
Cow pasture golf
They need some changes in the care of the greens. Our golf balls hopped went putted. Hopped all the way from point A to point B. As the ball traveled towards the hole, it would jump around the greens were so bumpy. With the price they charge people to play, well, the conditions should be better.
Greens still very very bad
Played there over a month ago and the greens were in bad shape. Well, today they are still very bad
Great Low Country Gem
Enjoyed a nice round of golf at TGC and I highly recommend playing this course. I drove from Summerville. First time playing this course and I tied my all time best score (91) for a round so far. I’m somewhere between beginner and intermediate. I average mid 90’s. Really liked the layout, the views were gorgeous and look forward to returning again.
Some of the par 4’s played long for me, however, some of the par 5’s are reachable in two. You can make up for the long par 4’s by going for the green in two on a couple of the 5’s. One in particular, I had a good drive off the tee. If I wouldn’t have went to the right side of the green I would have made it on with my 6 iron in two. It was nearly pin high. It seems I need to work on my aim/set up.
The greens and tee boxes need a little TLC but they seem to be on the mend. I Look forward to seeing them in better shape in the future. I was able to secure my tee time through golf now at a really good rate. This was especially beneficial with the current state of the greens. Overall, I highly recommend this course and look forward to going back in the future.
Lots of water
Great layout with lots of water, greens where a little rough but they were working on them. Well worth the time and money spent. Staff were very nice and helpful. I enjoyed my first time playing here and look forward when they get the course in a little better condition. Some members were picky of slow play and complained on us for no reasons but I just laughed it off, played with a member named Doug who was very helpful and told us about the water and hazards. We had a great time with lots of laughs especially as we left and a worker got a lawnmower stuck in the water
