Opened in 1970, Olde Beaufort Golf Club (formerly known as Lady's Island Country Club) is Beaufort's oldest golf club. It has a longstanding reputation for being one of the area's best values. The tight and challenging course demands long, accurate drives and cunning strategy. The layout twists and turns through dense groves of tall trees, making the golf course even trickier. True to its links design, the course is mostly flat but any lack of elevation changes is quickly forgotten when facing the strategically placed bunkers and numerous doglegs. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. One of the most difficult holes is the beastly 10th. This hole requires a long tee shot between two bunkers in order to make room for the long second shot to the elevated green that is bordered by sand both left and right.

Golf course is getting better
Fairways are getting better. Still needs grass in spots. Greens are in good shape. Not a bad course to play. Don’t have many options in Beaufort for public courses.

Nice Course
Greens are in good shape. Fairways are improving a lot. They are filling in with grass. Two holes are under repair to get fairways better. Course being well maintained.

Rustic with great staff!
A true "country" club! Beautiful layout but charmingly scruffy. And the price is right! My wife and I had a delightful 4 hour round. Will definitely play there again!
Great place to play
The greens are in great shape, the staff is very friendly, and the layout is great. The fairways are being worked on but overall it’s a great course for the money.
Really poor tees and fairways although greens were good
9 holes closed on our arrival.
No rental clubs as promised.

Layout was ok but could have been improved with some tidying up.
Not a great welcome and still charged £25 for nine holes when 18 was quoted as £38.
Much improved from a few years ago
The course is coming along and is in better shape than when I played it last year. The fairways still need work but they are filling in and improvements are visible. I thought the greens were in terrific shape and the traps were good. 18 holes with a cart for $39 is great value, this is like a late 90s price. Happy to support this old course with great layout especially since Pleasant Point down the road is in disrepair yet again.

Greens are in good shape. Lots of bare spot’s in fairways. There working to get fairways better. Nice restaurant and bar in clubhouse.
No reservation
The course wa listed as 18 miles from my location on GolfNow. It was actually 45 miles. I found that out after booking. Arrived at the course and they had no knowledge of my reservation. These are problems with GolfNow not the course. I went out as a single in front of a three-some that let me tee off in front of them. They were regulars. Played in 21/2 hours and had a great time. The greens were in good shape but the fairways we’re beat up. They started aerating the fairways while I finished the back nine. Good value for the $20 walking, but not worth the hour drive.
Course conditions
The greens were really nice, a good size and in fairly good condition. The T boxes were bare and sandy, the fairways were a little bare, however the course overall layouts is really nice and has the potential to be a really nice course.
