Olde Beaufort Golf Club

About
Opened in 1970, Olde Beaufort Golf Club (formerly known as Lady's Island Country Club) is Beaufort's oldest golf club. It has a longstanding reputation for being one of the area's best values. The tight and challenging course demands long, accurate drives and cunning strategy. The layout twists and turns through dense groves of tall trees, making the golf course even trickier. True to its links design, the course is mostly flat but any lack of elevation changes is quickly forgotten when facing the strategically placed bunkers and numerous doglegs. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. One of the most difficult holes is the beastly 10th. This hole requires a long tee shot between two bunkers in order to make room for the long second shot to the elevated green that is bordered by sand both left and right.

Course getting in bad shape.
Most tee boxes have little grass. Most fairways are in bad shape, they are mostly weeds. The greens are in terrible shape. Must have had a disease or something. Most have little or no grass making putting crazy. Course in need of help.
Ehhh, hopefully will get better and will come back to see.
Course is in poor condition. Greens not grown in / bare / dirt. No real fairway / rough - all the same - many bare spots. Tee boxes had longish grass. Def the bones of an interesting course if they get things to grow back in and start to maintain. Bunch of long par fours. Friendly staff. Paid 40 including cart.
Great Value
Great layout. Some rough areas on tees, fairways and greens. Possibly due to time of year for this course. Greens are true and fast. Would play again.
Decent conditions but great price
Obviously this isn’t the typical Beaufort area golf course. The fairways have plenty of grass and 8 out of 9 greens are in good shape. You can only play the back right now because the front is in bad shape, so I had to play the back twice. To walk a course for 20 dollars in Beaufort to me this is definitely worth it.
Beautiful course but the greens need some work
This course has a beautiful layout and amazing holes that can truly changeling. That being said, there definitely aspects of the course that could have been better. Certain fairways had large patches of different kinds of grass or no grass at all. All of the greens had a weird spray paint color with parts of the green missing grass entirely. Without those critics however, this course is a fantastic quiet course to play.
Good time
Nice course for this old hacker. They are updating the facility and grounds so I couldn’t rate some. I’ll definitely be back
Course needs some TLC
Course is in better shape than a few years ago. Fairways are pretty rough. Need seeded. Some of the tee boxes are just dirt. Some of the greens have some bad spots on them, but they seem to be getting better. Fun course to play hopefully it keeps getting better.
Usually pace is pretty good but this time there was a threesome in front of couple ahead of us that was extremely slow.
This course is fun to play
Like the course but several greens and fairways need some TLC. They need to put some effort on fixing them up.
All green conditions was perfectly fine and also sand conditions as well.
Poor service and deceptive pricing
Booked walking rate at $20 on golf now, but when I got there got charged $49 with a cart. I asked if they had walking rates. She said yes, and ran my card for the $49 and handed me golf cart keys while she took a call.
Lady Island CC
The course is in pretty good shape and the staff is working hard to make it even better. The greens are decent but are slow. I saw the crew working to make them better. The sand traps are good and the fairway is cut nice.
Not worth your time
The course was in sub par condition at every turn. No grass in fairways, greens were spongy yet didn't hold full shots, no drinking water on the course, bunkers were not maintained, the list could go on and on. Don't waste your money on this course.
Great course for fast play
I hate to stand around on a tee waiting for someone ahead of me to find their ball or line up a putt. I like to hit and go and this course lets you do that. Unless there is a tournament scheduled or other special event (call ahead) you can usually get in a round easily under 4 hours. It is challenging as thick trees/brush and marsh border the fairways so you better hit it straight. They have put a lot of work into the fairways and tee boxes over the past few months and it shows. Fairways that were once sand now have full grass. Greens are in excellent shape.
A great little country course!
Not the fanciest course, but great Low Country location and challenging but fair for all skill levels. We'll be back there again!
Excellent value
Extremely good value and not crowded (we practically had course to ourselves). Course was in good shape with a couple of holes under repaid so those were shortened. Greens were soft but good shape. Long course (6500 from whites) and very narrow, so you better hit is straight. Not complicated around greens so up and downs were pretty straightforward. Staff was super friendly ... worth the drive from HHI to avoid the crowds and get a round done in under four hours.
Good Course
They have done some new planting of the fairways, and the greens were in decent shape. Overall this course is worth the money and the time for us to get to Beaufort to play.
We have played many times here and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with no crowds rushing you along.
