Opened in 1970, Olde Beaufort Golf Club (formerly known as Lady's Island Country Club) is Beaufort's oldest golf club. It has a longstanding reputation for being one of the area's best values. The tight and challenging course demands long, accurate drives and cunning strategy. The layout twists and turns through dense groves of tall trees, making the golf course even trickier. True to its links design, the course is mostly flat but any lack of elevation changes is quickly forgotten when facing the strategically placed bunkers and numerous doglegs. Water hazards also come into play on a few holes. One of the most difficult holes is the beastly 10th. This hole requires a long tee shot between two bunkers in order to make room for the long second shot to the elevated green that is bordered by sand both left and right.

Tough course
Nice course. Greens and traps in very good condition. Fairways and rough dormant. Challenging course. Good value
Old Beaufort made me feel older than I am.
Cart path was 99% sand. I felt like I was playing on a sandy beach..The greens and tee boxes were in great shape. The fairways could use a lot of grass. I saw blue foam spots on the 3rd hole. I can imagine that they were trying to kill ants or some ground bug.
My golf shoes grabbed as much sand on the 1st hole and became difficult to clean. If you play there take a wire brush to clean bottom of shoes.

This course has a great layout. Sadly, there was very little grass on the fairways and particularly the front 9. Greens were okay. Staff were friendly. No bar or food offering on a Monday or Tuesday.
As advertised
After reading the prior comments, it was everything I expected. Fun layout, tighter fairways, course was a little rough, and great customer experience.
Off Season Disappointment
Unfortunately dormant Bermuda grass not over seeded. Sand traps were in awful condition. Greens were not too bad in respect to speed & roll but for $20 walking fee what can you expect..
Probably a very course from April to November.
Best Course in Beaufort
We love this course and play here every time we’re in Beaufort. Good conditions, super friendly staff, and low green fees. The fairways have a few rough spots, but continue to improve. The greens are always rolling well. The course is tight with OB and/or hazards bordering most holes, but it is very playable. My 4 iron gets a workout here! If you’re in the area looking for a public golf course, I’d recommend Olde Beaufort.
Good value for the money
Fun to play after more than a month of not playing. Greens were ok but need some help. Fairways were playable with a few bare spots. Driving range is poor. Staff is friendly and we had the whole course to ourselves.
Great bargain
I played an early morning round over the weekend. If the greens are much improved over the last time I played although they had been airified recently.. The fairways were decent though a little ragged around the edges. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I will play again here.
Only 9 Holes Open
We showed up and was told the front 9 was closed. Said they alternate the 9s closed for maintenance. There was no mention to that on GolfNow.
Cart paths are sand which made for the carts and everything a mess.
Great Staff
The staff was great, course is needing some work but the team is working hard to get the tee boxes and green back in shape. The fair ways are really needing some work on several holes but hopefully once tees box and greens are completed they will start working on the fairways
Old Beaufort
Enjoyed my round and will play again. Greens were in good shape, fairways were rough but evident they are working to improve them. Tee boxes are also being worked on so a little patience is needed while they improve the conditions bu for the price it was well worth it. Look no forward to playing it again and the progression of their progress.
Nice place but greens n fairways need work
Every thing other than course conditions was excellent… but the greens where rough and fairways as well were rough looked like the had a crabgrass problem they were in the midst of addressing
The staff was extremely welcoming, and made sure that you felt welcome.
Friendly staff, great hot dog
Course is in reasonable condition, typical for summer. Greens are very good. Don’t miss the grilled hot dog in the grill.
