About
Shannon Greens Golf Club (formerly known as Clarendon Golf & Country Club) in Santee incorporates three different lakes, Lake Santee, Lake Marion, and Lake Moultrie. Santee is one of the East Coast's premier golfing destinations and Shannon Greens still manages to stand out among the area's great courses. The golf course sprawls across gently rolling hills studded with towering California pines. It is definitely a shot-maker's course that will require the use of all the clubs in your bag. There are challenges in store, but it is a fairly open layout that is much more forgiving than it seems though golfers will have to contend with a lot of water. The course offers some great scoring opportunities, making it easier for beginners to approach with confidence. Shannon Greens Golf Club's 16th hole is one of the most memorable and scenic holes thanks to its island green.

Great course...just needs a bit of TLC
Played this course for the first time with two of my sons...great time. The weather was great and pace of play was good, especially for having two beginners. The two carts we had were decent, at best...both ran pretty poorly, but did the job. Course is in good shape, aside from some patchy greens and a couple soggy areas on two holes. Need better on-course directions to tees, but GPS helped out on that end.
I liked the course as did my boys. we will most definitely be back.
Fun layout, a few challenging holes. Nice par 5 with double fairway options.
Fun layout. Not much water or bunkers. Fairways need some maintenance. They're working hard on the greens. Unfortunately, just aerated when we played. I'd recommend playing the course. Great value.
Bring your bug spray
Overgrown fairways and bunkers. Rough was better than the fairways. Greens were burned up and half dirt. Bring plenty of bug spray because the bugs are relentless and biting. Pace of play was great because I was alone and had the 1st tee time...which was delayed by the worker coming in 10 mins late. It was ok because he let us all waiting grab our own golf cart. The guy was super friendly but I don't think I'll be playing here again. The course was pretty fun but waaaay old. If they kept up with the bunkers and grass cutting it would be much more enjoyable.
Good Value
Definitely could use a little more upkeep on the course, but overall fun and enjoyable. Some tough holes keep you on your toes. Best bang for the buck in the area.
Not worth the time or money
Many of the holes didn’t even have markers to direct you to the next one
Neat challenging course
Course was going though early reseeding in places but a really neat course.
Good layout/poor quality course
Layout of the course was great, but crab grass everywhere - even on the greens. Also, part of the course was dug up due to construction of homes and the carts are extremely old.
The course was u see a lot of construction due to new neighborhood being installed.
The course was under construction so the front nine was a little off. The pro shop attendant was awesome. Very polite and offered help with anything including pro shop supplies. The course was not like the photos on website. I would like to try it after it’s back to normal conditions.
Below average for the area
Staff was helpful and friendly. Carts were in very good condition. Fairways were basically native grass cut short some greens were in good shape, others were patchy and very bumpy. Playing as a single, got behind a foursome who after 3 holes offered to let me play through, but never did. Course layout was very good.
