Disappointment in a nutshell
Played this course twice before and I really enjoyed it for the money, location and all the amenities outside of the course itself.
This time was probably the biggest disappointment in a golf course that I have seen in the area. I understand that understaffing is a big issue nowadays especially the courses hard to maintain and keep it in top condition. Freshly aerated greens made it icing on top. 75% of the so-called bunkers on the course were miniature grand Canyons. Making it completely unplayable if your ball ended up landing there and even more annoying to fish it out of a canal as wide as my foot. The fairways were decent at best and the tee boxes were mostly moved around either from new sod or fixing them for maintenance. Overall disappointed in the trip for a 4th of July round. Hopefully next time we catch the course at a good time.
Under Construction
Good layout, but many of the greens are punched. Also, many of the tee boxes and bunkers are currently being redone.
Build Back Better?
For the money, great value.
They are re-sodding several tee area and re-making several sand traps. Traps were not raked or dragged on any recent day. Greens had been punched recently which made reading them difficult.
Nice old course
Good course although the layout is very tight so be prepared to watch for other balls coming into your space from other players around you. And keep an eye on your ball or other people will pick it up. Fairways and greens were ok but the tee boxes were horrible. Obviously they don’t maintain them and they don’t even pick up the hundreds of broken tees on the box. The back nine is longer and more spread out along with the greens being bigger. Tiny greens on the front but they’re pretty flat if you can get on them.
Starting to green up
Course is good shape for winter play. It is starting to dry out some from all our rains. There is even a tinge of green starting to show on the fairways and greens. Being a twosome made for a relatively slow round with several foursomes in front of us.But weather was great and we enjoyed our round.
Great staff
The upgrades done to the bunkers and golf carts are great!
Garbage
Course staff didn’t show up until after the course says it opens. Knew there was weather. Hadn’t checked the course, couldn’t even say if the course would open. Had an 8am tee time and their answer was ya no one’s here yet so earliest we can get you out if at all is like 11-1130. Very poor attitude service and even a care about golf or their customers. Shows in the conditions of the course.
