Calhoun Hills Golf Complex

About
Calhoun Hills Golf Complex (formerly known as Calhoun Country Club) sprawls across Saint Matthews' gently rolling hills. The club offers a championship golf course that is woven through stands of towering pines and mature hardwoods. Scenic landscaping accentuates the course, blending in seamlessly with the beauty of the natural terrain. The trees come into play along the fairways but they are not the landscape's only hazard. A pond and a stream come into play on several holes, most memorably on the par-4 15th where golfers will have to carry the stream that cuts across the hole. Another challenging hole is the par-4 17th. Accuracy is required in order to navigate the dogleg left fairway and the well protected green. Calhoun Hills Golf Complex also has a driving range and putting green for golfers to use and there are also tennis courts for those who don't play golf.

Nice Course
Excellent staff. Had malfunctioning cart. Staff delivered replacement even with limited staff available. Made rest of day more enjoyable. Greens very good condition and consistent.
Budget Golf at its Best
My brother and I had a great time golfing here. Staff was friendly and very understanding of some user errors we had during our round.
Price is great, all the amenities one could want. The greens could have been in better shape but if I’m being honest it wouldn’t have helped my game.
If you are going to hit a low score, this might not be for you. If you are going to have a good time or need the play time on a budget, this place is for you!
Fun course
This is a great course for the cost . You can tell they are investing in this course. It presents a challenge due to the rolling hills. The staff is very friendly and the food and beverages are cheap. It was a 50 min drive from Columbia. I look forward to another round
Where did the golf pro g
I played the otherday for the first time I a month or two. When I played the times before they had hires a golf pro I think his name was Scott. And that was the best thing that place had done in along time. He had that place looking like a golf course again. Whe I asked about where he was when playing the other day I was told he had been let let go. Wow he was the reason I came back. I won't any more now after finding that out!!!!
Joe M
Front 9 was all chopped up but the back 9 was great.
What you would expect for the price.
Fairways not maintained, rocks and roots in some places. greens were patchy some are half sand. Cart paths are probably the worse I’ve seen. Staff is friendly and it’s cheap to play.
You get what you pay for
Granted, it was raining when we played but from the poorly managed greens to the fairways looking like you’re still in the rough, to the beaten up tee boxes. This place has potential but I didn’t see any that day
Good Lil Course
Played tis course before at a work event. Greens were better than before and looks too improve. Fun course fun to get around. Good layout would play again!
Skip this course
This course is in terrible condition. Most of the greens were unplayable. One green was 85% mud and sand no grass.
Skip this course.
Not bad needs work
Greens a little rough very wet. Tight fairways cart path rough. Maybe more signs pointing to next hole. Great track love the rolling fairways.
Decent little track...
Nice course. Made the hour drive to give this place a shot. Had an early AM tee time, checked in and off I went. Layout is a bit to figure out, but each hole was pretty good. Fairways in decent shape, aside from what appeared to be some water line work on the majority of holes...DIdn't affect my play. Greens are pretty consistent with a medium speed roll. Many greens have a good undulation that made me rethink my angles and approach a couple times. My only true complaint would be with the cart paths. Severely in need of leveling/repair. Overall, I loved this course and will definitely play again. Great value for a day away from work....
Awful
Course was in terrible shape. Has a nice layout but needs to be better marked. The price is good. Needs tlc though
Great price bad condition
The price is good but the tee boxes and fairways are in awful condition. I contemplated walking off the course
Nice layout
We enjoyed the round. The course is in good to fair condition. Couldn’t pass up the HotDeal.
Cheap course and you get what you what you pay for
As with a previous reviewer the front desk guy was initially rude and very short. Especially when the rest of the group that I was randomly paired up with through "GolfNow" for his words was formed. I had to work that night and after meeting 2 of the other 3, I supposed to play with were not ready, they suggested I go get a cart from the desk since the group wasn't ready. The front desk guy said "why" when I asked for a cart. Finally he relented and suggested I grab a cart that was in front of the clubhouse. I cleared the mostly drank redbull and napkins from the cart and got to the first tee. After teeing off and getting to play. The pace of play was very good, however, the greens were rough and the fairways were hard to delineate from the rough. The golf carts with gps were way over kill for this course. Seriously the greens need big time love. Esp the par 3 no 14. the green was a mud pit. If you come out not expecting much and are ready for a round at the price of a bucket of balls at most other courses then you are good to go. I was happy to finish a round of 18 in 2:26 but I was realistic with my expectations coming here. If I had spent a few less mins looking for balls a sub 2 hr 18 hole round could be a possibility but don't expect the best course ever for that price or speed.
Can’t beat the price
The round started with an unfriendly man behind the counter. Once on the course, we enjoyed the layout, but improvements were being made in many areas throughout play. Lots of potential in the making.
