Calhoun Hills Golf Complex
About
Calhoun Hills Golf Complex (formerly known as Calhoun Country Club) sprawls across Saint Matthews' gently rolling hills. The club offers a championship golf course that is woven through stands of towering pines and mature hardwoods. Scenic landscaping accentuates the course, blending in seamlessly with the beauty of the natural terrain. The trees come into play along the fairways but they are not the landscape's only hazard. A pond and a stream come into play on several holes, most memorably on the par-4 15th where golfers will have to carry the stream that cuts across the hole. Another challenging hole is the par-4 17th. Accuracy is required in order to navigate the dogleg left fairway and the well protected green. Calhoun Hills Golf Complex also has a driving range and putting green for golfers to use and there are also tennis courts for those who don't play golf.

Nice layout
We enjoyed the round. The course is in good to fair condition. Couldn’t pass up the HotDeal.
Cheap course and you get what you what you pay for
As with a previous reviewer the front desk guy was initially rude and very short. Especially when the rest of the group that I was randomly paired up with through "GolfNow" for his words was formed. I had to work that night and after meeting 2 of the other 3, I supposed to play with were not ready, they suggested I go get a cart from the desk since the group wasn't ready. The front desk guy said "why" when I asked for a cart. Finally he relented and suggested I grab a cart that was in front of the clubhouse. I cleared the mostly drank redbull and napkins from the cart and got to the first tee. After teeing off and getting to play. The pace of play was very good, however, the greens were rough and the fairways were hard to delineate from the rough. The golf carts with gps were way over kill for this course. Seriously the greens need big time love. Esp the par 3 no 14. the green was a mud pit. If you come out not expecting much and are ready for a round at the price of a bucket of balls at most other courses then you are good to go. I was happy to finish a round of 18 in 2:26 but I was realistic with my expectations coming here. If I had spent a few less mins looking for balls a sub 2 hr 18 hole round could be a possibility but don't expect the best course ever for that price or speed.
Can’t beat the price
The round started with an unfriendly man behind the counter. Once on the course, we enjoyed the layout, but improvements were being made in many areas throughout play. Lots of potential in the making.
Greens
Ball reacted as though you were putting across a keyboeard. Greens just were not in good shape.
Good for newbies
Came from out of town and booked through golf now. 28 bucks is a good price for 18 and I thought I'd give it a shot. Tee boxes in decent shape mostly, fairways were in rough shape, greens were freshly sanded seemingly. Had a decent time but hope they can get a little more help and improve this place for the locals
Great Course and Improving
Really enjoy this course, great deal on 18 as well
Enjoyable course
I enjoyed the layout of the course. The course was recently taken over by the county and should only get better in the coming months
My secret
I am a budget minded golfer, so I seldom play at top rated golf courses. I am able to shoot in the 80’s and 90’s from the senior tees. I really like this course and it’s a good deal. It’s a 45 minute drive so it’s a little bit further than the two other places I play, but I can play it in about three hours and fifteen minutes. (I do know when.) It’s worth the $ and a fun layout. They are making improvements to the course also. This is my secret practice facility. You should check it out.
Good product for the cost!
The course is a good course and has very reasonable rates. Being out in the country, I always know I can play during the week without crowds. If you're a duffer like me on a tight budget, this is a great option.
Very Good Golf Course
Calhoun Hills Golf Complex is a fun course to play. We got an unbelievable deal with GolfNow and would not of been upset if the cost was double. Very Good layout, conditions are not super but with the weather it is understandable, there were a crew working on the course. Proshop staff was very friendly and helpful. We will be back. David
Great practice course
The front and back 9 are two different vibes. The front is far more open than the back, and way more forgiving, kinda forcing two different approaches to getting off the tee sometimes. All over the course you.can expect tight lies off of the greens, pretty fast greens, and some chances to open up.and bomb some drives.
Word to the wise, always play 10 and 18 to the back of the green, because on either hole the front will roll way back into the fairway.
