About
Calhoun Hills Golf Complex (formerly known as Calhoun Country Club) sprawls across Saint Matthews' gently rolling hills. The club offers a championship golf course that is woven through stands of towering pines and mature hardwoods. Scenic landscaping accentuates the course, blending in seamlessly with the beauty of the natural terrain. The trees come into play along the fairways but they are not the landscape's only hazard. A pond and a stream come into play on several holes, most memorably on the par-4 15th where golfers will have to carry the stream that cuts across the hole. Another challenging hole is the par-4 17th. Accuracy is required in order to navigate the dogleg left fairway and the well protected green. Calhoun Hills Golf Complex also has a driving range and putting green for golfers to use and there are also tennis courts for those who don't play golf.

Great practice course
The front and back 9 are two different vibes. The front is far more open than the back, and way more forgiving, kinda forcing two different approaches to getting off the tee sometimes. All over the course you.can expect tight lies off of the greens, pretty fast greens, and some chances to open up.and bomb some drives.
Word to the wise, always play 10 and 18 to the back of the green, because on either hole the front will roll way back into the fairway.
Too hilly
The course conditions weren't the greatest and two hilly for my liking. Although me and my son had fun but we always do playing golf. That said I don't think I'll go back there. The staff was very friendly. On a side note the golf cart we were given we had to clean the garbage out.
Great price
The course layout was good but the conditions were not so great and the greens need work filled with weeds.
Not Worth it
Went to this course for the first time and was disappointed in the quality of the fairways. The fairway grass was overgrown, undistinguishable from the rough and did not have typical grass you would see on golf courses. Tee boxes were overgrown as well and had bare spots with no grass, as well as ant hills on them. The majority of the greens were in good condition, with a some of them being rough and slow with bare spots on them. The pace of play was slow and caused lots of waiting as well as back ups on tee boxes. The range was very minimal and range balls were old and very heavily used. Staff was super friendly, but only saw 2 people working the whole course. Cart paths were nonexistent in many places. GPS in carts was a plus.
Solid Value
First time playing the course. Cool layout. Front 9 is wide open, back 9 gets tight. Greens were “fair” in the sense that they rolled true, but were slow (I just couldn’t get speed correct at all). Cart paths were odd because they sort of exist and sort of don’t. I would play again though.
Nice remote course
Great overall experience, only downfall was cart path issue. GPC in carts was a plus. Will be back AGAIN!
Nice course
Great course and excellent value, will deffinetly come back. Only down side was cart paths, but that wont deter me from coming back again.
Perfect choice for my needs!
The course was in great shape And had a great layout. The greens were not lush but not splotchy either... True rolls. Not very crowded, which was my number 1 hope! Great grill for lunch! Everyone so nice!
Front very open , back 9 tighter
For the money it is well worth the drive to play. Greens were not great but playable. Very friendly , great pace of play. Very good value for the $. Will play again
