I was the first one out at 6:30am as a single and it was my first time playing this course. It took me 2 hours and 15 mins as a single! Great pace when you can keep it in play n there’s no one in front of you ! I asked the pro shop staff what I could expect and she replied “target golf 101”.... she was absolutely right ! the course has great character and the greens were multi tiered and I doubt there’s a flat lie which makes every putt count! Unfortunately two thirds of the greens had severe issues but I’m sure the ground crew will have them rolling true in a few weeks. As for the target golf ... I left the driver in the bag, played from the black tees and teed off with my 3 wood (I hit it about 250 on average). I’ll definitely play this course again next time I’m in town visiting the in laws.

I always like this course! The design suits my eyes and game. Fairways are in great shape but the greens are not. Although we were told that they are newly aerated (3 weeks) most of them have not recovered yet. Most of them have weeds, slow and bumpy. Played with my wife, our tee shots and approach shots were almost perfect only to be disappointed with the greens! Hope they can bring back to the greens to their pristine condition. This course is a little bot pricier than the other courses (munis) in Kern County, but I think it is worth it, when the greens are completely recovered.

The course is in great condition. The greens are, to me, the best in town. The turf is about a, 9-10.5 on the stemp. Perfect in the early morning.

Course looks really good right now, I wish they had a super out there controlling play a little better and friendlier staff but I keep going back

I actually played this course for the first time on Thursday the 24th. It was so much fun! I came back on Monday the 29th... don't sleep on this one it's a great course and awesome value!

The greens were a little slower than usual...letting the grass grow to fill in the low growing areas.

Lots of trouble to get into. Course in really good condition. Greens running at about 11. Same condition as last year.

This golf course has not been this great to play, for the last three years. The Greens are the best in a long while. Thanks to the groundskeeper crew.

With the unique challenge this course brings, for the money is great.

This course has been a very good challenge, in the golf community. The other courses in the area lack the beautiful greens. The chipping/ pitching area are great for the, honing of these skills.

A cute little par 3 area is always fun, can't beat the price. 5.00

I love this Course. In really good shape now. Fairways are lush and greens trimmed just right. Putting is actually fun. This Course can get a little pricey so you have to watch for specials. I highly recommend this Course . If uou can hit irons accurately you will really enjoy this Course.

The greens and bunkers we nice. The front 9 was being punch. So we played the back 9 twice. I hope the fairways we dormant, because they were thin in some places.

Played River Sunday. Was a beautiful day and great time. Course is in great shape. Greens are rolling great. The guy who starts you out informed us that they are currently doing some renovations to the bunkers near the greens which is great. That has been our only complaint since we have been playing here. Luckly, I didn't hit into any but my playing partner did and he said it was good. Played in 4 1/2 hours.
