Worth the money
The course is a good place to play in the off season. Sometimes in season the fairways are not cut and you can lose your ball in the middle of it.
Fun course to play
The greens are very challenging. The course was in good condition. Play was slow, but it was a beautiful day. We will definitely play here again..
Needs work, but challenging.
This course was fun to play but the fairways and greens need some work. Good layout and friendly staff.
WIDE OPEN COURSE
If you're new to golfing this is the place to play. The fairways are as wide as a driving range. This course is great if you're wanting to work on things, because you always have a shot at the green. The greens are in great shape and will challange your putting on the front 9. A lot of back to front movement on greens. Back 9 greens are bigger and more forgiving when putting.
Layout has potential. Maintenance could be better
A former municipal course that has been upgraded throughout the years. The course layout has very strong potential from its layout but grass needs to be cut, wet spots are super muddy/wet, and greens could use quite a bit of work. My cart was a bit funky as well. It’s a decent course for under $25 but not sure I’d make the drive out from Charlotte again. Slower pace of play
Need your driver to putt!
THE GREENS WERE SLOWER THAN PUTTING ON Carpet. The sand traps were mud. Very poor conditions even for Springlake!
Couldn't finish
I play this course often because there are several holes I really like, plus one I absolutely hate. Good trade-off I guess. And, I can usually play it faster than most other courses. This last time, though, there was a steady drizzle and my club was starting to fly 30 yards as it slipped out of my hands on the follow through. When I heard thunder and saw lightning on the third hole, I quit. I had too much to do that day to wait out a storm. Some recent improvements around the course have made it more pleasurable to play.
Last resort
The green are in good shape but that's the only nice thing i have to say.
The fairways are mixed grass and weeds and no different from the rough. The layout is not great and does not offer much variety. Pace of play is hit or miss but usually slow. There are much nicer courses to play for the same rate or less.
This is usually a last option for a last minute decision to play. Not somewhere i would recommend if you are looking for a good course or even value. Its basically a driving range of 18 holes.
Spring Lake Golf Course
Fairways and areas next to fairways need mowed. They were doing some mowing but most holes need it. Greens were in good condition. The ninth hole is terrible and has been that way for over two years. Tree down blocking cart path. Course needs some TLC. Overall it’s an ok course to play.
