Had a great time!
Since I like to bounce around and travel to different courses, I only get to Spring Lake probably once or twice a year. The conditions, particularly the greens, were fantastic when I played on July 1.
I went out as a single for an early morning round and the very friendly regulars waiting to tee off were gracious enough to let me go ahead of them. I flew around the course in no time as my footprints were the first ones to mark up the morning dew.
If you've never played here before, the course has a very nice mix of holes, and some particularly devilish ones. The Par 3 second is a beast. The green on the Par 4 seventh is something else (I've yet to par that hole though I came close this time.) And the landing area for the Par 4 17th can be very tricky if you're not a long hitter. That being said I always enjoy my rounds here. The place has a very relaxed vibe and all the workers, from the pro shop to the greens keepers that I met, were fantastic to talk to.
Great value and nice course
Great value for your money. Course was in good shape. Staff was friendly and working on the courses first three holes.
Good value
Great layout lots of hills and challenges but the course could use some TLC. For the price it was a great value
Needs lots of attention
Everything about this course is subpar. Pro shop is crumbling, crappy food offerings, and nothing on the carts- gps, sand, cooler, ball cleaner are all nonexistent. The course itself is in bad shape. From tee boxes to fairways and greens, every part has patchy grass and often none at all. No marshal or starter so pace was slow. Got hit into three times due to the course layout with holes on top of each other. Just a bad experience overall. Spend your money elsewhere.
Some challenging greens
Fun course that has not been too busy when I’ve been there. Some of the greens are a little challenging. Always fun
Disappointed
Staff was as friendly as they come. Greens are in great shape, quick and bump free. The only issue is no green grass anywhere on the fairways.
Good
Good greens top knocth, like group played with, enjoyed it...
Great hideout!
Course is in pretty good shape. Grass is cut and the greens are great! Will come back for sure, especially mid summer when it at its best
