Bear mountain was a treat
Had a great time golfing at Bear Mountain. It’s a nine hole course that you can golf twice took about four hours. Total pace play was perfect. It was very pretty just challenging enough for our skill level. The staff was very nice. I would definitely come back. Tea boxes were good. Greens were fine. Fairways were green everything you could hope for.
Course in Better Condition than Expected
Played back-to-back days and had a great both days with my 7:30 am tee-time. On the first day I played solo and was able to hit extra shots on each hole while waiting for foursome behind me to catch up. The second day was a better round having developed this course knowledge and sharing it with two other players who had never played the course, which was in good condition, with the greens playing fast. Pace of play was good. The first five holes play down the mountain, while the last four are basically upwards. The two par 5s are reachable in two considering you will get quite a bit of roll if you hit it down the middle of the fairway. I suggest that you club up on the first five holes and play your normal distance on the last 4 holes. The last three holes are a Par 3, Par 3 and a final par 4 hole that is a drivable. All are great birdie opportunities.
Nice course with great people
First time playing this course. The layout was just ok, as were the conditions. All the employees that I encountered were very nice and helpful.
Excelent course
For only having nine holes, this is an excellent course. Includes a few par fives several par fours and really nice part3’s. A mystery course in beautiful Big Bear.
50/50
The course is great fun, however the absence of the beverage cart has been missed the last few times I have played. And unfortunately, this last time I was taking my sons to teach them golf and I had a party of drunk Heckler behind us not fun!
First timer since moving to BB
My son and I had the best time playing the Bear Mountain course. We were paired with 2 players that played at the same pace we play so it was perfect! We can’t wait to return and play a few more times before they close for the winter.
Great Spot in the mountains
I love this little nine hole course, especially the par 3 where the forward tees are on a little platform accessed via a little bridge. I was a single golfer and was paired with a nice family who were beginners. We were getting behind and the Marshall came along, and I suggested that the two fast and male golfers behind us join me and we would go ahead. The Marshall was super accommodating, and the family didn't mind that we went ahead of them. Probably took the pressure off of them since they did not have a lot of . The two male golfers ended up coming up ahead with me and we were able to finish the nine holes in a timely manner. The folks at the cart barn were very nice as well. I didn't take advantage of any inside offerings because it just looked like there was a snack bar. I only played nine holes due to time restraints. The two guys that joined me were playing 18. I wish this was an 18 hole golf course because the area could certainly use one. But it's beautiful up at 7000 feet and I definitely will return.
