Grand Oaks Golf Club

The greens were easy in the sense they were grabby (rough) and you could go at the cup aggressively. I like this course as it is a great value. It has a track that you can work on all the shots. I like the layout. Lots of hidden water especially for first timers. I recommend this for all and will continue to visit.

This was a neat little course that I never knew existed, which is funny because apparently it’s been there for decades. Course was very challenging, boasting water on 16 of the 18 holes. For anyone who doesn’t have very good control over their ball flight, make sure you bring plenty! Course was fun, and very challenging. It was well maintained and staff was great.

I was supposed to tee off at 1:45PM, but when the rest of the group (3 people I did not know playing together) was late, I was able to start on my own. After the 6th hole, a very nice group of 3 invited me to join their group. We finished our round in under 3 hours from whbe I teed off! The course is in much better shape than when we played it back in March, and the beverage cart driver and marshal both did a great job. I saw both at least 5 times, and that was in a very fast round.

Lot of straight par 4s, some really pretty par 3s. Hard fast greens.

Course was in pretty good condition. Fairways and Tee Boxes were in good shape other than a few hard pan shots on a couple of fairways. Covid-19 restrictions have the range closed, but Cart Girls are always looking for you, which is a plus due to no water on the course. Brand new clubhouse is nice, but again Covid-19 has it closed other than to pay. My biggest gripe would be the greens, very hard and bouncy. When it’s tough to stop wedges, it makes the round a little disappointing. Also, there is a lot of water not marked on the Score Cards, so if it’s your first time playing be prepared for good shots to be penalized. A few holes have water in the middle of fairways where your drive is landing. Sure up well defined water areas on the card and get those greens right and I would definitely play here again

Fun Course! It 's a Hidden Gem. Staff is A-1 and the price is right. Can't beat it.

The course overall was in decent shape, but the fairways were basically like hitting off the first cut of rough. Also it was cart path only. We tee off the first hole and notice a solo behind us. So we let him play through. We pulled out carts over so that the guy could get by. 2 wheels on the cart path and 2 in the grass. Barely off the right side of the cart path (rough) and the owner came out and complained to us for not being on the cart path.

The course was fast but fun. My buddy had the nickname “worm burner” and he played fantastic which shows you how fast the course is. If you hit it straight you will be golden. We also found every puddle of water on the course.... We will be back!

I been playing all the public courses in DFW for 30+ years and have never heard of this place before. It is about 1/2 mile west of Prairie Lakes in Grand Prairie.

What a wonderful little hidden gem of a course. Apparently it started as private course designed by Don January, then went semi-private later. I am told it had to close for a few years due to pipeline construction thru the course.

Expect a flat course with well maintained fairways and fast greens, most of them are crowned.

There are plenty of water hazards, so bring lots of balls.

Unless you tip it out, the par fives are all reachable for nice birdie opportunities. Plus there are one or two reachable par 4's of you are welling to risk it.

Pay attention to your GPS as many hidden hazards await you.

I will definitely go back, and probably play a lot more strategically next time.

Played a threesome with a 10am tee time. Course was in great shape. Despite lack of golfing abilities we still had a great time all around. Bailey the cart girl, was a delight and consistent. The pace of play was normal and the other golfers were courteous. We each got our own cart to maintain social distancing guidelines. Carts we're well maintained and have a USB port for your phone charger. The greens we're in great shape and the pins equipped to minimize contact. I would definitely play there again!

The course especially the greens need attention, hazards not properly marked. Perfect drive down the fairway ended up in water, no stakes visible from the tee box and no way to see the water unless you’ve played there before.

Greens are small, ok with that, hard, (not firm), hard, not ok, one approach shot had about a 8-10 foot bounce.

Facility was not ready to be open to the public. And for sure, not ready to charge $50 for a round. There are municipals that are in better condition in the middle of winter.
