Chippewa Golf Club
About
Chippewa Golf Club in Doylestown sits just a few minutes south of Akron. It's one of the area's most popular public courses. Opened in 1962, the golf course has a traditional layout that sprawls across rolling hills. The undulating landscape provides a variety of elevation changes that range from subtle to dramatic. Accuracy is key since mature trees frame most of the holes and the massive, contoured greens also present a challenge. If you can keep it in the fairway, there are some great birdie opportunities on the par 5s. Overall, Chippewa Golf Club is player friendly enough for all skill levels to enjoy with the exception of the treacherous 14th, 15th, and 16th holes. This trio, nicknamed the "Bermuda Triangle," will test the putting skills of even the best golfers.

Great value and excellent staff
I don't play a lot of public courses, but with how much I enjoy Chippewa, I don't see the need to play any others. The staff is friendly, they take good care of the course, the greens were in phenomenal shape for March, I really can't say a single bad thing.
Can't wait to go back.
Nice golf carts!
Nice golf carts with gps. Makes the round more enjoyable. Course was in excellent condition. Really like the challenges this course has to offer. Fast greens but true. Really like this course.
Great Course
This is my home course and I play league here, so I play it about 40 times a year. The greens are normally in very good shape (great shape for a public course) and the fairways are well manicured. The rough is generally cut pretty low, which makes it more playable for everyone. This course has two distinctly different nines. Make hay on the front where the greens are generally flat and there isn't much chance of getting in trouble. The back, however, gets much more difficult. The greens are still large, but they are also more narrow and much more sloped, making accuracy a must. There are also some holes where your balls can vanish. It has a nice putting/chipping green and an ok practice range. Overall, this is one of the best public courses in the area and definitely worth a visit.
SLOW!!!!
Round of golf took 5 ½ hours! Most holes had two groups waiting on tee when we got there.
It was a nice layout, somewhat challenging. A little condition problems, as there where aeration on some holes.
No Ranger
There was no Ranger. One foursome had the entire back 9 backed up. By hole#13, there was four groups on one tee waiting. We had to wait about 10 minutes between shots. Absolutely ridiculous and will not go back!
Best public course around
I love this golf course. It’s challenging and always in amazing shape. My favorite course in the area.
Father/son
Course layout is odd (2 par 5’s in a row to start back 9). Holes are on top of one another. Greens were chewed up due to a lot of pitch marks. Fairways had some bare spots. Back tees had some fun driving positions.
Nice AF
Man I got a hot deal for 30$ what a play! Beautiful greens (fast rollers) and the best dam carts out there
excellent first visit
Course was in the nicest shape of any place I'd seen all year. Pace of play was no issue as we were the first group off on a Thursday morning. Very short from the white tees, but lots of variable distances so I was able to hit almost every club in the bag. Not just a driver-wedge course. Lots of blind shots and elevation changes, especially on the back 9. A course you need to play several times to get a feel for. The only thing I didn't like was the 4 brutal greens on the back 9. (12, 14-16). Now I know to watch out for them and I will play here again.
Fantastic experience
The course was great, had an outing in front of my time but never waited on the tee box, staff were the best part of the experience, I’ll be back! I gotta tame the triangle!
Excellent course conditions and a challenging experience.
Challenging and satisfying
Just beautiful, well maintained.
The golf carts are the best with gps and satellite radio.
I will be coming back
Hidden Gem
Great course, a must play if you’re in the Canton area!
Incredible Everything
Course was in immaculate shape, especially given the downpours we have had recently. There were about six foursomes all going off on the front, the starter let me start on the back in front in between turning groups who were more than willing to allow me to play through when the he opportunity was appropriate. Played 18 holes in about 3.25 hours. The carts were great and really gave you accurate yardage which was really nice given the amazing rolling terrain and elevation changes affecting shots. Greens were country club condition, truest I’ve ever played. I played the blue tees and it was a crazy challenge, shot some of my best golf this year for an 80 and the courses consistency and the people who made the pace ideal. The clubhouse has a nice little bar and friendly staff, the putting green is pristine and great to practice on before a round. They have more stuff I didn’t even use. Drove down from Cleveland due to hearing good words, will be back again with friends was and incredible experience!
