Better and better
Every time I play, the course improves. The greens are firm, fair and overall very good for the season. The course is very short except for a long and challenging par 3 on the front. If you're hitting your driver straight be ready for a low score
decent course i guess
we played just before christmas. first time playing somerset farms. the course was a strange layout. we got confused on a few holes on the front 9. please put up more signage.
i worked for the epa for many years, and i did not like seeing the laborers applying some kind of fertilizer on the greens only a few hours before a very heavy rainfall was expected. for one, that is illegal. second, the river runs right along the golf course, so all of that fertilizer that was applied, guess where it went? right into the water ways. i suggest you learn the laws on fertilizer applications, especially right before rain events, and especially in the winter.
Confusing front nine.
Overall fun course. Front nine is hard to tell which green you are playing. We just watched the group in front of us. They seem to book close together but pace was still pretty good. They say new owner is doing a lot of work for next year. Will play again.
Pace of play awful
Starter was running about 25 minutes behind, 0 people on the back nine however they refused to start anyone there. Pace of play was horrendous. 4 1/2 hours in and we bailed after hole 14. The groups around us were also complaining about the pace. No Marshall to move anything along. Also, went to get food on the turn and everything is “cooked to order, you should have called ahead. We don’t make food in advance because we have no way of knowing how busy we’ll be”. Uhh maybe the fully booked tee times are an indication? Come on man, everyone has Hot Dogs ready at the turn!
Another Visit
same as before
green mostly very nice and receptive
fairways going dormant for winter but nice condition
bunkers need work. especially fairway bunker left side hole 18
tees need work
this course offers lots of challenge but isn't to punishing.
worth the drive, especially for money.
give it a try!!
Getting Better
Things are improving at the course. Its great that its open and with time it could be a fun course to play.
Poor golf course described as great
This course was anything but good. Me & two friends went to play this course on a beautiful Saturday morning. The course conditions were very poor with the greens conditions laughable. We were told by the course ranger that the course had just been redone and the group involved in the renovation were really trying to create something nice. It was very clear that the renovators just wanted to put a course together with no pride in their work. Fairways were not cut well & the greens had dead spots all over. Not only was the course in terrible shape the course staff was very very rude. We paid for 18 holes but because they had a kids clinic going on we were only able to play 9 holes with no refund. We were told our $40 round was only for 9 holes when online it clearly said 18 holes. It was a slap in the face after playing in such poor course conditions. I would not advise a single person to play here’s unless the price is around $20 for 18 holes. With The course conditions and the staff I would rate this course a .5 star if I could.

Great course was a beautiful day today course was fantastic
Recommend changing course layout
This is a decent course but I am not a fan of the layout particularly holes 3 - 6.
Worth the Stop
First time playing and was pleasantly surprised. I was told the course is making big steps in improving throughout the year and I believe it.
Nice course
Course is improving every time I’ve played. Greens a good, but fast.
Good day at Somerset Farms
Very nice round, though pin placement on 9th hole was on the hillside of the green - unless you holed your putt, there was no shelf for the putt to stay on, it would roll all the way back.

Took my 6 year old for his first experience on a golf course. The condition of the course is much improved over the previous year. I have always loved the layout and I am glad to see the improvements!
Thanks again!

Decent tract
Foursome I played with played from senior tees. Very short, several lay-up holes. Greens tough to hold but fair. Greens also recently sanded and quicker than last time I played.
Fun Course, Good Value
Fun course that's in pretty good shape, given how late it is in the season (late October). There are a bunch of short Par 4s that provide good scoring opportunities if you can keep it in play. Very reachable Par 5 (#8) that'd probably be a Par 4 if it weren't for three crossing creeks splitting thing up. Greens are small-ish but in good shape.

Thank you for your recent visit to Somerset Farms Golf Course! We are also aware of the confusing hole routing layout and have recently added 12 signs throughout the course to assist players as they navigate the course. We will also be using a few different tactics to better define the hole layouts as well. Stay tuned!
