Golfer Reviews
Cant wait for grass to grow
Really enjoyed the layout. Interesting/ challenging without being penalizing. Greens in very good shape and fast for this time of year. Fairways still more dormant than others in area and cut very tight so pretty thin lie at times. I’ll be back in a few weeks hopefully with green fairways!
First and last time
Awful course, greens are atrocious, fairways (if you really want to even call them that) are just weeds, course layout is dangerous.
Improving with new ownership
This course has undergone a lot of changes recently. The course is much more open and forgiving now, as well as being a bit longer. I wish they had a driving range. The overall grass quality is better and the greens were looking really good.
Somerset First Time
Really fun course and I would give it a B. The cart path needs a little work and the staff was friendly. The fairway is starting to wake up, but the greens were in great shape. Recommend for all skill sets and we'll be back.
Give it time
Greens were nice but thats about it. Give it time though. A company can in a will start doing renovations. If they shut it down for a few months aerate the fairways it could become a really nice course.
Somerset golf course the old rapidan club
New to golf only been playing this year my second time on the course I did all 18 holes in three hours scored less than 100 and wasn’t pressured or made to feel uncomfortable by anyone great course great staff great price much better than the local clubs in the area
Very challenging layout
Course is in good shape. Greens in much better condition than last year. Fairways are still dormant so I can't judge conditions.
Great product
Course in awesome condition compared to last year at this time. Tee boxes need some work , but overall incredible turn around.
Challenging
Great course, very challenging, some you need to know the hazzards to make good club selection. The cart path needs a lot of work. Staff was very friendly.
Better and better
Every time I play, the course improves. The greens are firm, fair and overall very good for the season. The course is very short except for a long and challenging par 3 on the front. If you're hitting your driver straight be ready for a low score
decent course i guess
we played just before christmas. first time playing somerset farms. the course was a strange layout. we got confused on a few holes on the front 9. please put up more signage.
i worked for the epa for many years, and i did not like seeing the laborers applying some kind of fertilizer on the greens only a few hours before a very heavy rainfall was expected. for one, that is illegal. second, the river runs right along the golf course, so all of that fertilizer that was applied, guess where it went? right into the water ways. i suggest you learn the laws on fertilizer applications, especially right before rain events, and especially in the winter.
Thank you for your recent visit to Somerset Farms Golf Course! We are also aware of the confusing hole routing layout and have recently added 12 signs throughout the course to assist players as they navigate the course. We will also be using a few different tactics to better define the hole layouts as well. Stay tuned!
