Mixed Bag
More expensive than. the previous year, despite horrible greens. Fairways very good. Tee. boxes sometimes a little slanted
Greens are horrible
This is the 2nd time we have played this season. The 1st time was early in the season and the greens were being aerated so it was unfortunate but understandable. Played the course 08/01/2025 and the greens are horrible. It’s like putting on glass with crabgrass all over the place. Definitely call them and ask about the greens if you play later in the year. Personally I wouldn’t pay 1/2 price to play this course again this year. Very disappointing.
strange conditions
Tee to green ,one of the best layouts and conditions. greens had fungus on them. almost unplayable.
Price is Wrong: PLINKO on the Greens
First the good points.
1. The staff is outstanding, especially the starters. When asking about the course and certain holes the starter (an elderly gentleman with a beard and twitchy eye) made the recommendation to club up on certain holes despite what range finder said. Very friendly!
2. Fairways are good and rough is challenging.
3. Sand traps (I’m being generous calling them that) are hard with no sand.
4. Greens are horrible! Full of crab grass. It’s like playing Plinko trying to make a putt. My group had some laughs trying to predict which way the ball would go off the crab grass moguls. They need to do something to address this or at least inform golfers of the problem. Suggestion: Recommend the “marshals” go around to the Greens and remove the crab grass and fix divots. I’ve seen this done at Lee Hills and their greens are in much better shape!
It was a fun course and hopefully they can address the problem of the greens to make it a great course.
Great Potential, Terrible Greens
Meadow Farms Golf Course has a lot going for it on paper. Three 9-hole courses allow for more players to cycle through, the staff is friendly, and the pro shop, lounge, and grille are all impressive. The course itself is generally in good shape, with well-maintained tee boxes and fairways, and the rough is challenging enough to punish bad shots. Signature features like the waterfall and the longest hole in America add some interesting character.
Unfortunately, all of that is overshadowed by the absolutely atrocious condition of the greens. They are, without exaggeration, some of the worst I have ever played. This even includes sand greens in Florida. Patchy, dying, and inexplicably sprouting crabgrass everywhere, they make putting feel like pure guesswork rather than a test of skill.
It is downright shameful for the course to charge $86 a round, seemingly justified by the novelty of the longest hole alone. At best, this should be a $45 course for 18 holes, and had I known all the greens looked like the first few, I would have asked for my money back or disputed the charge altogether.
To make matters worse, the two golfers I played with mentioned that the greens always look this way. Slow greens are one thing, but this level of neglect or apathy is inexcusable. If the course can maintain its tee boxes, fairways, and rough so well, there is simply no excuse for the greens to be in such a laughable and embarrassing state.
Meadow Farms needs to take a hard look at its priorities before expecting players to pay premium prices for such a subpar experience.
Good Course
Great course. Some challenging layout. Friendly staff. Greens were a little rough on a couple holes but overall not terrible.
Good even in the rain
There was heavy rain day prior, light rain day of so it was cart path only. Incentivized to put ball near path to save walking in the wet grass ;-}
Good course, terrible staff/experience
Went out for a Father’s Day round, and had a poor experience. While the course is in good shape, repeated negative interactions with various members of the course staff ruined the day. While warming up in the range, had an individual who didn’t identify themselves in any way as a staff member drive us to berate us for parking next to the driving range, stating we were on it.
Additionally, a “regular” hit into us several times. The staff’s solution was to have them apologize by driving up from the tee box, which was really them just yelling at us that they weren’t hitting into us.
It’s a shame to waste such a nice golf course.
1. The Staff are unfriendly.
2. Outside food is not allowed, yet the cafeteria closes early.
3. The fairways and greens are in terrible condition, showing a lack of proper maintenance.
4. This golf course consists of three 9- different courses, making a total of 27 holes. We paid to play all 27 Holes, but after completing two of the courses and attempting to move on to the third, we were told - without any prior notice or explanation to simply replay one of the course we had already played. It was completely irresponsible and poorlyanaged.
Corse was in decent shape.
The course itself was in decent condition. Some of the tee boxes were very bare and nothing but dirt. The greens were a little dry considering all the rain we have had in the area the last few days
Should’ve left it as a fond memory
I lived in Woodbridge in the 90’s and had fond memories of this course. The conditions were generally good and the funky layout was memorable. I haven’t played the course since 1998. It hasn’t fared well over the past 27 years.
I paid $75 for the round not including range balls. I was welcomed in the clubhouse with a sign stating aerification had recently taken place. This was the first mention of this important tidbit. But that was just the beginning. I played Longest 9 and Island 9. The greens were beyond hairy, had almost no sand filled in the holes, and were decidedly unplayable. They also have maybe 3-4 different types of grass in them. This rendered the round unsalvagable especially for the amount paid. My playing partners (who I did not know) paid 20% than I did by just calling up the course to get a tee time. Fond memories ruined. I won’t be back and I recommend others steer clear.
Beautiful Course!
First time playing here was a great experience with the staff, as everyone was wonderful and made sure I understood the course set up before starting. Enjoyed the different courses I played. Next time I will make sure to play the longest par 6 course! Will definitely play here again.
Winter golf
Great shape for winter except greens were on the show side...otherwise fantastic one again.
