Good course
I’m a beginner and I believe this Course was pretty good. There were walkers before us and it slowed us down just a little. We caught up with them on the back nine and allowed us to play through. The back nine went pretty well. Would love to play here again. The bar staff were pretty friendly too and had good beers to offer.
The Little Gem
Eagle Haven is without a doubt the best Naval course in the area. Don’t let the 6200 yard length fool you! Her fairways are tight and her greens can be subtly tricky. There’s plenty of water trouble to be found with wayward shots! She was built in 1951 and is a throwback to the old course design of tight fairways and small greens. The view from the par 5 4th back tee box looks out to the Chesapeake Bay. The view is further complimented at the par 4 6th when looking back towards 4 and 5! The staff is phenomenal and Master PGA pro Bill Baldwin is a walking wealth of knowledge and undeniable you one of the top instructors in this area! Esther in the pro shop runs a smooth operation behind the counter!
April at Little Crrek
Always a fun layout, eagle Haven is springing back from an inundating winter. Greens tend to be slow, bumpy, and mysterious to read, and fairways are thin at the moment. But #6 tee remains the most scenic in all of Hampton Roafs, with its view of the Chesapeake Bay Bridhe Tunnel, and golf on this winding water hole laden course by the Bay feels like home.
Solid
Course was good overall. The fairways are incredibly tight in places; I wonder if that is because the tremendous rainfall in the area has prevented them from mowing like normal. But the 7th fairway is only 12 or 15 steps wide in the landing area. Greens were in decent shape, probably as good as can be expected given the heavy rains combined with high temperatures. Fairways were good. Has some really cool holes.
Good course
Haven't played this course since 1995. It was good shape, the greens rolled pretty good and were cut at a decent speed. The fairways are wide open and forgiving, if you're looking for a technical course then this one isn't for you. Not the nicest military course I've ever played but well worth the money. If you're in the area and have access to the base then you should check it out.
Absolutely excellent course.
I did not have one problem with this course. It was excellent. The layout was beautiful and the way they take care of this course is excellent. I definitely recommend this course.
Very nice course
Have not played this course in about 25 years. Course conditions were very good but the greens need some work. The clubhouse is very nice as well
Great Course
I have not played this course in about 30 years and I still love it. The fairways are in excellent shape but the greens can use some work. The facilities itself are also excellent.
