Honey Bee Golf Club
About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

Sad greens
I have played this course numerous times in the past, but not this year. This was the first round of the year and I was so disappointed. The tee boxes and fairways are in good shape. Bunkers were so-so, but the greens - terrible. Not sure what has happened to them but they are covered in bare spots. In a big way. So bad we couldn’t read the greens.
I’m sure they will solve the problems but it’s going to take some time. I hope they do soon because I truly enjoy the Bee Hive…
Greens Need A Lot of Work
The course was in excellent condition except for the greens which need a lot of work. There were a lot of brown areas on the greens and the greens badly maintained.
Sand Traps Need irrigation
Sand Traps full of water might as well be water hazards. Other than that the course was in fairly decent shape
Nice Layout Needs fine-tuning
Nice layout, interesting holes and water comes into play on quite a few holes.
Greens are fine, but the traps need a lot of work ( weeds, growing in some of the traps).
Fun course to play. Can be pricey on weekends for the quality of the course.
Solid value
From the start, the entirety of any interaction with staff was warm, welcoming, and professional. The clubhouse attendant even offered advice about how the course was playing that day.
The tee boxes are good, for the most part- some are extensively devoted and sandy with a decent slope. The fairways range from perfect to needing some love but nothing that was detrimental. There were no swamps or dead patches. The rough was well maintained, the bunkers were very solid so they hadnt been tilled or mixed but that probably helped me out 😅. The only semi negative was the greens. They were taken care of but it was like the course was switched to pro difficulty on the greens. They were fast and super unforgiving with some pin placements in the craziest ridges.
All and all we are making this a regular course on our schedule and I would recommend it to anyone. Its got a more open course for beginners but requires some Veteran touch to get over water on some holes.
Honey bee
Course is in good shape. Greens are rolling very well. Only negative is no drinking water available on course.
Very nice coarse
I've only played a couple of courses in Virginia beach. This is the best coarse so far. I definitely recommend.
Fine course
This is always a fun, challenging course. It’s fairly short on the scorecard but plays longer with doglegs. Greens ran very fast. Driving range was mats only. The price is basically normal for golf these days. Definitely recommend.
Decent for this day
Greens were very fast. It was very wet for the time of the year a decent day of playing the course.
Honey Bee review
Nice course layout, could be a nice challenge for newer golfers. Sandtrap were mud traps. Not too bad pace of play. Good price for range balls before the round too.
Too much time finding lost balls
My biggest complaint here and other places . Is if you lose you ball, conform with the rule of 3 minutes . To many take longer . Plus if you tend loose alot of balls buy cheap or used ball since obviously the fancy ones they are not helping you !!! I'm not really that good and if I know I wack a ball and it lost i may take 2minutes max if I think it's findable then drop and move on. I do buy used balls !!!
