Honey Bee Golf Club

About
Nestled in the heart of Virginia Beach, Honey Bee Golf Club is one of the area's most popular daily-fee golfing venues. Rees Jones designed the course, incorporating water on 10 holes as well as intricate bunkering throughout. The challenging layout has several tricky doglegs and some treacherous blind shots as well. It's a golf course that demands careful course management and some strategic thinking. Accurate shot placement is also key when maneuvering the rolling fairways and contoured greens. While it's by no means an easy golf course, it is an enjoyable round for players of all skill levels, making it a popular venue for tournaments and corporate outings. For golfers looking to get an entire day of golf in, Honey Bee's sister club, Stumpy Lake, is only about half a mile away.

Good place 👍🏻
Golf course is good and always in good shape slow play for November but it is what it is
Let’s gooooo
Pace of play let’s speed it up we
Are not pro’s hit and go it’s ridiculous how long sometimes it takes to play a round
A good test at a good price
It's a good track, variety of holes, used most of the clubs in the bag. Not overly long, but it makes up for that with relatively tough greens - quicker than you'd think, and with more subtle breaks than you see. Well, than I thought and than I saw! I had 41 shots and 39 putts (including 6 three-putts). Never could get the speed right.
Anyway, I'll be back.
Honey Bee is Sweet!
Our group of 3 enjoyed a great round of 18 on a Sunday that started out gloomy but for the last 9 holes it was a sunny beautiful fall day. The course is top notch with beautiful groomed fairways and greens. The highlight of the day was trying to navigate the last part of the back 9 through the challenging Bee Hive holes. We enjoyed the entire course and definitely will be back again.
Bad luck
We got paired up with two college guy who had never played golf...we had to constantly tell them it was their turn to hit...four groups played thru us in the first five holes...we finally left the buy then had to wait on other slow groups...not the courses gailt
Poor Pace of Play
In general Honey Bee is a good course. On the 1st hole I saw a Marshall. I thought great, the pace of play should be good, but boy was I wrong. He didn't do anything to speed up the pace of play. My tee time was at 9:28 , I finished at 2:45 PM. So Saturday golf is probably closer to 7 hours. I will play this course again.
Perfect day for golf
Course looked great! Greens were in good shape except that golfers today do not clean their marks. Pace was very slow.
Dog leg heaven
There’s 6 par 3’s, and 4 par 5’s. No 150 yard poles, most greens are sloped pretty steeply from back to front, staff was friendly, sand not too bad but kinda pebbly, greens mostly ok, houses and huge trees line most fairways, fairways & tees a bit overgrown.
Good track to play but tee boxes and greens need some attention.
Enjoyed the round here and love the course layout. The course was in good condition except tee boxes were chewed up and not even and the greens had so many unrepaired and repaired divots. Fairways were descent.
Great day on the course
Played while visiting from Canada. Had a great day course was in amazing shape. Pace of play was perfect. Will be returning in a few weeks and cant wait to play it agaian
Great day
Played while visiting family. I am from Niagara Falls Ontario Canada. Had a great time very peaceful and relaxing round of golf. Great value great layout great conditions. 2 greeens had minor burn areas other then that course was perfect. Challenging but great for all golfers. Cant wait to go back
Enjoyable Golf Outing at Honeybee
Initially, I was greeted by a friendly staff member in the pro shop. He explained the course well and described the off course amenities. Accessing my golf cart and heading to the practice range was quick and painless. The course was in great shape, particularly the putting greens. The course was backed up, however. It took nearly 5 hours(!!). Also the price point was more than I expected to pay, although I was given a military veteran discount. My friend and I enjoyed a cold beverage at the course restaurant and the service was great. I’ll play there again soon.
Great local spot
Pretty easy course with no real standouts. Just your simple above average course and excellent service.
